The Chip Leader Mystery

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

We did catch Franck Yenigotchian but his stack didn't appear to be close to six digits. In fact, he only had 53,775 and is a Frenchman that lives in Germany. Cuong Van Nguyen was in fact the man to beat, but it turned out he only had 9,300 as well. We will see what other surprises the day brings.

Gerald Karlic in the top three

Both combined flights of the $1,111 Little One for One Drop at the 2014 World Series Of Poker created a total of 4,496 entries and albeit being short of the previous year, the event has raised an astonishing $499,056 for the One Drop charity. The top 468 spots will get paid at least $1,780 and 885 hopefuls remain to potentially claim the first-place payout of $637,539.

Leading the remaining field into Day 2 as of 1 p.m. Las Vegas time is Franck Yenigotchian from Germany with 93,775 followed closely by Cuong Van Nguyen with 91,000. Third in chips is Gerald Karlic with 79,500 and many other notables remain with hopes to score yet another payday at the current series.

Follow the PokerNews live reporting as we head towards the money bubble and further today with blinds restarting at 300-600 with a running ante of 75. Most likely, 10 levels of 60 minutes each will be played to trim down the field considerably.
