Gregg Getting Shorter

Level 12 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Tony Gregg was the first player to act, and he put in a raise. Tom Hall called in middle position, Phil Galfond defended his big blind, and the flop fell {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Galfond checked, Gregg continued for 260,000, and only Galfond called.

Both players checked on the turn ({5-Spades}), and Galfond led out for 135,000 on the river ({7-Clubs}). Gregg called, then mucked when Galfond revealed {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for a pair of aces.

Phil Ivey raised to 200,000 and Doug Polk called from the big blind. The flop came down {5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and both players checked. On the turn the {A-Clubs} hit and Polk checked to Ivey who bet 250,000 this time around. Polk made the call and on the river the {7-Spades} hit.

Polk checked to Ivey who tanked for a bit before deciding the check behind.

Ivey showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and he raked in this pot. Despite losing this pot Polk still sits on around 3.5 million chips.

Big Pot for Salomon

Level 12 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Sam Trickett raised to 160,000, Rick Salomon called from the hijack, and Connor Drinan came along from the button to make it three-way action to the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop. Two checks saw Drinan bet 260,000, Trickett folded, and Salomon check-raised to 760,000.

Drinan made the call and the {7-Diamonds} appeared on the turn. Salomon wasted little time in betting a million, Drinan called, and the {A-Diamonds} completed the board on the river. Salomon checked, Drinan did the same, and the former tabled the {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for trips nines. It was good as Drinan mucked.

Level 12 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Phil Galfond
Phil Galfond

On the first of these two hands that Phil Galfond was involved in, action folded to him in the small blind. He limped in, and then Tony Gregg checked his option in the big blind to see the {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop. Galfond checked, Gregg bet 100,000, and Galfond folded.

On the next hand, Gabe Kaplan made it 180,000 to go from the hijack seat, and Galfond called on the button. Christoph Vogelsang called from the big blind, and the flop came down {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. After Vogelsang and Kaplan checked, Galfond bet 220,000. Vogelsang called, and Kaplan folded.

The turn paired the board when the {A-Spades} landed, and Vogelsang checked over to Galfond. Galfond checked behind, then the dealer placed the {2-Spades} out on the river. Both players checked.

Vogelsang showed the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for two pair, aces and eights, and Galfond mucked.

Four-Bet Gets it Done For Ivey

Level 12 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Paul Newey was in the cutoff and opened the action with a raise to 160,000. Doug Polk made it 435,000 from the next seat over and action trickled around to Phil Ivey in the big blind. After about 15 seconds, Ivey reached into his stack and casually flung out 1.1 million in chips. His four-bet was enough to make Newey release his cards immediately.

Polk thought for a moment before kicking his cards in as well. Ivey took down the pot and now has about 8.5 million in chips.

More for Trickett

Level 12 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Cary Katz raised to 160,000 from the hijack and Sam Trickett called from the button. Rick Salomon came along from the small blind and three players saw a flop of {4-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. Salomon and Katz both checked, Trickett bet 250,000, and only Salomon called.

The {K-Diamonds} turn saw Salomon check once again, and Trickett kept the pressure on with a bet of 500,000. Salomon made the call and then checked the {7-Hearts} river. Trickett bet approximately 900,000 and it did the trick as Salomon folded.
