Saul Loses Big Pot in First Hand

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

In the first hand after the redraw to the 10-handed final table, Marcel Vonk raised to 27,000 from early position, then Matthew Dames and Kevin Saul both called from the blinds. After the {5-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop, Saul led for 48,000 and only Vonk made the call.

Saul continued with a bet of 84,000 on the {5-Clubs} turn and the Dutchman didn't go anywhere. The {7-Clubs} river then completed the board and Saul fired a third and final bullet, worth 128,000. Vonk considered his options and eventually made the call, turning over {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{A-Spades}{6-Spades} for a winning hand. "Sick call," half of the players on the table said.

We didn't catch the action, but AP Phahurat was eliminated at the hands of Marcel Vonk after Vonk would hit a flush with his {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Phahurat was eliminated in 11th place and they are now combining to a final table of ten. We'll have the new seat draw and chip counts shortly.

Saul Likes the River

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Kevin Saul opened from the cutoff to 24,000 and Matthew Humphrey in the small blind and Dmitrii Valouev in the big blind both called. The flop came {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and all three players checked. On the {10-Clubs} turn it was checked to Saul who bet 34,000. Only Humphrey called leading to Saul saying "now he really wants me to fight for this pot."

The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Humphrey checked again to Saul who made a large bet of 118,000 this time. "Unbelievable," said Humphrey as he started talking to himself. "I think you have it. You look like you have it so bad. Probably wrong."

Humphrey counted out the call but talked himself out of it and mucked himself. "Flat with aces again," asked Saul, adding "that seemed like a good river."

Nassif Rivers Straight

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Dapreesch Scates limped from early position, Matthew Dames called from the small blind, and Gabriel Nassif checked his option in the big blind. On the {4-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, it checked to Scates who continued for 16,000 and only Nassif called. Both then checked the {9-Diamonds} on the turn.

The {6-Spades} river completed the board and this time the Frenchman Nassif led for 50,000. Scates tanked for a while before making the call, and Nassif turned over {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} for the nine-high straight to scoop the pot.

Humphrey Gets First Blood

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Matt Humphrey opened for 27,000 and was called by Galen Hall out of the big blind. The flop came {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Hall check-called a 30,000 bet from Humphrey. The turn was the {Q-Clubs} and Hall check-called an 86,000 bet from Humphrey. The river was the {2-Spades} and both players checked.

"You win," said Hall, and Humphrey tabled {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for two pair, queens and eights. Hall flashed his cards and it looked like he had a wrap that didn't get there.
