Hang Keeps Climbing

Level 24

Stud 8

Yancik: {x-}{x-} / {3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{K-Hearts} / {x-}
Hang: {x-}{x-} / {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{A-Spades}{6-Hearts} / {x-}

Picking up with the action on sixth street, we found Tommy Hang move forward a bet and Stewart Yancik call to see seventh. Both players looked at their final cards and Hang bet out one last time. Yancik heaved a sigh and plopped calling chips forward.

"Full house," said Hang, rolling over {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} for eights full of aces.

Yancik shook his head and threw away his cards, awarding Hang the pot. Hang has now crossed the million-chip mark with about 1.05 million to Yancik's 160,000.

Stewart Yancik completed and Brandon Guss called. Fourth street was dealt and Guss would get the last of his chips in. The hands were flipped over and here is how it shaped up:

Yancik: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Guss: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

Guss was in the lead with his pair of nines and would never trail as he would end up making a full house when his hand ran out {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}{9-Hearts}. He doubled up to 90,000 in chips while Yancik slipped just below the 300,000 chip mark.

Level 23

Stud

Hang: {x-}{x-} / {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds} / {x-}
Guss: {x-}{x-} / {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Hearts} / {x-}

Tommy Hang completed the action and Brandon Guss raised. Action came back around to Hang and he called. Guss continued his aggression on fourth street only to have Hang come over the top with a raise. Guss called and fired out once again on fifth. This time, however, Hang opted just to flat.

On sixth street, Guss fired out another bet. Hang stuck around to see his final card. Guss moved out one last bet on seventh street and Hang came over the top with a raise. Guss took a deep breath and then threw out a call.

"Flush," said Hang, rolling over {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}.

Guss stood up from the table, shrugged, and threw {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts} on the felt for aces up and the second best hand. Hang took down the pot and now sits around 930,000 in chips. Guss, on the other hand, has dropped to about 33,000.

David "ODB" Baker
David "ODB" Baker

Stud

David Baker: {X-}{X-}/{4-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Joe Villella: {X-}{X-}/{J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

David Baker would complete and find a caller in Joe Villella. Baker would check-raise the rest of his chips on fourth street and Villella would call the additional 7,000. Baker turned over {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Villella {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Villella had the lead with his pair of nines. Fifth street would give Villella the {2-Hearts} and Baker the {A-Spades}. Sixth street would give Villella two pair with the {J-Clubs} and Baker would also hit two pair with the {4-Spades} but his two pair was behind Villella's.

Villella was dealt the {3-Clubs} on seventh street and Baker would need a deuce, four, queen, or ace to stay alive. He squeezed his card and knew immediately it wasn't any of those. He flipped over the {5-Hearts} and received congratulations from the remaining players as he was eliminated in eighth place.

Sixes Are Good For Hang

Level 23

Stud

Hang: {x-}{x-} / {Q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} / {X-}
Lord: {x-}{x-} / {2-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} / {x-}

Kristan Lord brought it in with the {2-Spades} showing and it folded all of the way around the table to Tommy Hang who was last to act. Hang completed and Lord came over the top with a raise. Hang called to see fourth street.

Hang checked and Lord continued his aggression with a bet. Hang called and the two players each checked fifth street. On sixth, Hang came out with a bet and Lord moved forward a call. The two players received their seventh street cards and the final betting round went check-check.

Hang shrugged and tabled {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{9-Clubs}, signifying that his visible pair of sixes was all that he held. Lord could not beat it, though, and the pot was pushed to Hang. He now has about 735,000 while Lord's stack has decreased to about 175,000.
