Aces Cracked

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Hiren Patel opened to 50,000 from early position and Ted Gillis made the call from the small blind. The flop was the {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades} and Gillis quickly shipped all in for his last 330,000.

Patel snap-called and tabled {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and was way ahead the {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} of Gillis. The {3-Diamonds} turn made things way more interesting, however. With the {q-Diamonds} river, Gillis found the miracle flush to double up and crack Patel's aces, leaving the rest of the table collectively shaking their heads.

Divkovic Wins 1.25 Million Pot with Ace High

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

[Removed:480] just got a big boost in chips. He raised to 50,000 in the hijack and Mustapha Kanit three-bet to 105,000. Divkovic proceeded to four-bet to 231,000 and Kanit made the call. The dealer dealt {k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for the flop and Divkovic check-called Kanit's bet of 140,000. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and Divkovic check-called again. This time Kanit's bet was for 245,000. The river was the {5-Clubs} and both players checked.

"Ace high," Divkovic announced and turned over {a-Spades}{8-Spades}. Kanit mucked quietly.

Shields Doubles Once Again

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Edison Shields
Edison Shields

Edison Shields has doubled up for the third time today and has yet to cross the 500,000 mark in chips. Mustapha Kanit raised to 48,000 in middle position, Ted Gillis called two seats to his left, and Edison Shields pushed 176,000 all in from the small blind. Kanit let go of his hand, but Gillis called.

Gillis: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Shields: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The race was on, and things got even scarier for Shields on the suited flop. The board ran out {3-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Shields secured the double up.

...And Again

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

On the very next hand, Mustapha Kanit opened to 48,000 from early position and Edison Shields three-bet to 115,000. Mustapha made the call and the flop came {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}.

Kanit shoved all in and Shields immediately called, tabling the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Kanit had the {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and needed some help to eliminate Shields. The help didn't come though, as the board completed {4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, giving Shields the higher flush.

"I told you, I'm not going anywhere," Shields said, as he raked the big pot and his second straight double.

All In Chop

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Edison Shields raised to 50,000 from under the gun and Mustapha Kanit made the call in middle position. When action folded around to Jacobo Fernandez on the button, he three-bet to 187,000. Shields let go and Kanit pushed all in. Fernandez made the call and, for the third time today, a preflop all in was between two players holding the same hand.

Kanit: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Fernandez: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

No flush was made as the board ran out {6-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} and the dealer chopped the pot.

On back-to-back hands, Mustapha Kanit found himself right in the middle. First, he opened to 60,000 and John Hennigan shoved all in for 760,000 total. Mustapha made the call and tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} versus the {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} of Hennigan.

The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Hennigan doubled.

Next, Mustapha opened to 60,000 and [Removed:480] three-bet to 140,000 from the big blind. The flop was {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Divkovic bet 115,000 and Kanit called. The turn was the {10-Spades} and Divkovic pushed all in. Kanit made the call.

Divkovic: {q-Spades}{6-Clubs}

Kanit: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The {a-Diamonds} fell on the river and Kanit had his flush and the double.

Darin Stout Eliminated in 10th Place ($29,709)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Darin Stout - 10th place
Darin Stout - 10th place

Darin Stout was having a good time at the table today. He was being plenty vocal and livening up the table. Unfortunately, his run has ended, busting out in 10th place. Stout reluctantly pushed from under the gun and said, "This is not me volunteering to go home." Ted Gillis sitting immediately to his left pushed all in over the top by a small margin and the rest of the table folded.

Stout: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Gillis: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Stout got it in good, but he was dead by the river. The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and Gillis had hit the straight to knock Stout out of this tournament. We now have our official final table of nine.
