Slaubaugh vs. Uncle Krunk

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Robert "Uncle Krunk" Panitch
Robert "Uncle Krunk" Panitch

Nenad Medic opened for 2,700 under the gun and Robert Panitch, also known as "Uncle Krunk," called from the cutoff. Cody Slaubaugh then three-bet to 8,100 from the button, Medic folded, and Panitch called.

Both players proceeded to check the {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, and then Panitch check-called a bet of 12,700 on the {6-Spades} turn. When the {3-Spades} completed the board on the river, Panitch led out for 15,000 but quickly folded when Slaubaugh moved all in.

Marafioti is on Fire

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Just before the level went up, Matt Marafioti eliminated another player over at Table 436. He's already taken care of Jonathan Duhaeml and Greg Ostrander, and now he has another knock out to his credit.

It happened when his unknown opponent moved all in under the gun for 12,800 and Marafioti called from the small blind. The big got out of the way and the cards were turned up.

Marafioti: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Marafioti was well out in front, which is where he stayed as the board ran out {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}.

"Damn, you're on fire kid," someone at the table commented as Marafioti stacked the chips.

"Unbelievable"

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On a board of {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, Peter Jetten checked from the under-the-gun position and Craig Varnell moved all in from middle position. Jetten hit the tank hard, and after a solid seven minutes had passed by, he called of for 26,500.

Jetten: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Varnell: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Jetten had made the right call and was primed for a double, but poker can be cruel as he found out when the {7-Spades} spiked on the river.

"Unbelievable," Jetten lamented, which was something he would repeat two more times before getting up from the table. It was a bad beat for sure, and one that means Jetten will leave Event #15: $3,000 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em empty handed.

Ostrander Ostracized by Marafioti

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Greg Ostrander raised to 2,400 from the button and Matt Marafioti defended from the big blind. Both players then checked the {a-}{7-}{3-} flop, which contained one spade, and the dealer burned and turn another spade.

That is when Ostrander bet 3,000, Marafioti raised to 15,000, and Ostrander got his remaining chips in.

Marafioti: {a-}{7-}
Ostrander: {a-Spades}{6-Spades}

Marafioti had flopped two pair, while Ostrander turned a flush draw. The {7-} river improved Marafioti to a full house, which sent Ostrander home short of the money.

Baldwin Strikes Out

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Ami Alibay opened for 2,200 from the hijack only to have Zachary Humphrey three-bet to 5,200 from the button. Eric Baldwin then four-bet shoved for 23,900 from the big blind, Alibay folded, and Humphrey opted to make the call.

Baldwin: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Humphrey: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Baldwin got it in good, but he lost the lead when the flop came down {k-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. The {2-Spades} turn meant he needed an eight and an eight only on the river, but it wasn't meant to be as the {Q-Spades} blanked.

Diaz Doubles; Stern Falls

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We picked up the action when David Diaz three-bet to 5,300 from the button, and the original raiser, Dani Stern, four-bet to 11,000 from the cutoff. Diaz responded with a five-bet to 19,300, Stern called, and it was heads-up to the {j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop. Stern checked and then snap-called when Diaz moved all in for 21,600.

Diaz: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Stern: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Stern had flopped top pair with top kicker, but it was no good as Diaz held an overpair. The {5-Clubs} turn gave Stern a wheel draw, but the {3-Diamonds} blanked on the river. Diaz doubled on the hand while Stern was left with just 2,100. He would be eliminated a short time later.

Hinkle Crippled by Stern; Eliminated by Grappo

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We saw Blair Hinkle putting on his backpack and exiting the tournament area, which is a sure sign of elimination. Sure enough a quick check with his former table revealed that he had been crippled when his {a-}{8-} lost to Dani Stern's {a-}{9-}.

Not long after, he got his last three big blinds in holding {a-}{2-} but failed to overcome the {4-}{4-} of Anthony Grappo.
