Casey Stewart Eliminated in 11th Place ($9,827)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Casey Stewart
Casey Stewart

David Martirosyan opened to 16,000, Ryan Schoonbaert called from the button and Casey Stewart came along from the big blind.

The flop was {j-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Stewart checked. Martirosyan fired 22,000 and Schoonbaert called. Stewart announced "all in," for 72,000 and Martirosyan also pushed all in. Schoonbaert folded and it was Stewart at risk with the {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

Martirosyan tabled the {q-Spades}{6-Spades} and Stewart said "nice hand," and patted the table before the turn card even came. Sure enough, the {3-Spades} fell on the turn and the {k-Diamonds} completed the board.

Martirosyan made his flush and continues to find all the right moves.

Schoonbaert Doubles To 12 Big Blinds

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Ryan Schoonbaert was very low on chip and looking like he would be the 11th place finisher, but he doubled through Casey Stewart a few moments ago and now has 12 big blinds.

Schoonbaert was all-in with [TjTc] versus Stewart's {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and when the board ran out {8-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} the double was complete.

Oshima Ups His Aggression

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Kezu Oshima
Kezu Oshima

Kezu Oshima opened to 16,000 from under the gun and after Tom McCormick folded, Anton Smirnov three-bet to 60,000. Oshima eventually folded and Smirnov claimed the pot.

That brief hand only tells part of the story because Oshima has becoming extremely aggressive during the past couple of levels, opening pots seemingly for fun. It's a strategy that is reaping dividends because he's now the chip leader with 11 players left with over 500,000 chips.

Amin Cripples Schoonbaert

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Ahmed Amin
Ahmed Amin

We walked up to a flop of {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Ahmed Amin heads up against David Schoonbaert. After a check from Amin, Schoonbaert bet 16,000 and Amin thought for a moment before announcing "pot." It was 88,000 to Schoonbaert and he announced a pot-sized reraise, which would put Amin all in and Amin made the call.

Schoonbaert turned over {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for top pair and Amin had {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for the flush draw. The turn was the {2-Clubs}, completing the flush for Amin. The meaningless {5-Hearts} completed the board and Schoonbaert could only shake his head as Amin raked the huge pot.

Amin Doubles Through Martirosyan

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

The action folded around to Ahmed Amin on the button and he opened for a raise to 12,000. David Martirosyan three-bet from the big blind then called when Amin moved all-in for the rest of his 74,000 stack.

Amin: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Martirosyan: {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} board kept Amin's jacks as the best hand and he doubled to 160,000.

Goldman Runs Golden

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Dan Goldman is back up to 145,000 after doubling through Ryan Schoonbaert.

Goldman was way ahead when the chips went into the middle, his {A-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} a more than 4-to-1 favorite to be the {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} of his opponent. After burning a card the dealer put a hand-winning flop, for Goldman at least, into view. It read {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{a-Spades} to gift Goldman quad aces!

"I guess I'm ahead," joked Goldman.

The dealer completed the hand by putting the {6-Diamonds} and {2-Hearts} onto the felt and Goldman doubled up.

Dan Goldman the Poker Player?

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Dan Goldman
Dan Goldman

Phil Collins is the biggest deal of the remaining 11 players, but Dan Goldman could make a case for that title as well.

Dan Goldman has been a big deal in the poker world for years, even if we don't know him by name. As a marketing executive in the poker industry for years, including five years in the early days of PokerStars, Goldman knows his way around poker, whether it's virtual or live felt.

One could argue that folks like Goldman are as responsible as anyone for the worldwide poker boom that has taken place in the 21st century.

Goldman is short-stacked, but his deep run is poising him to make a name for himself and become a big deal as a player.
