Greenstein Quarters Green In Massive Pot

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein

In a battle of three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winners, Barry Greenstein got the better of Perry Green.

The action started when Greenstein raised to 55,000 from UTG+1. Green called from the next seat over and the rest of the table folded. The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Greenstein continued for 80,000. A call from Green landed the {6-Clubs} turn which Greenstein checked. Green bet the pot, Greenstein raised, and Green called all in for 594,000.

Greenstein: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Green: {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

Both had the nut low, but Greenstein had the lead for the high half of the pot with aces. The {4-Diamonds} river was no help to Green, giving three quarters of the pot to Greenstein, along with a sizable chip lead on the competition.

Simao Gets Three Quarters Again

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Action folded around to Noomis Jones in the small blind, and after a minute or so of tanking, he reluctantly bet enough to put Joao Simao all in from the big blind. Simao called it off.

Simao: {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Jones: {8-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The flop came down {3-Spades}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs}, which gave Jones top pair but Simao a flush draw. The {a-Diamonds} on the turn meant that both players would split the low, and the {9-Spades} on the river gave Simao a winning flush, and 3/4 of the pot.

Perry Green Doubles Through Joao Simao

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Perry Green raised to 65,000 from UTG+2 and Joao Simao three-bet to 215,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Green who called to see a {Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop.

Green shoved for his remaining 64,000, Simao called, and the cards were on their backs.

Green: {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Simao: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The {A-Hearts} landed on the turn to give Green aces up and a 6-5 low. The {J-Clubs} river was no help to Simao, giving the Green the pot.

Simao was all in the following hand against two players and managed to win three quarters of the pot.

Graham and Jones Trade Small Pots

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Jarred Graham made it 50,000 to go from the cutoff, and Noomis Jones was the lone caller on the button. The flop came down {6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, and Graham fired out 65,000. Jones folded, and Graham took the pot to up his stack over 700,000.

On the very next hand, Graham made it 50,000 to go again, and this time, Jones fired back with a pot sized bet of 186,000. It was for most of Jones's chips, and when it got back to Graham, he tanked for about 30 seconds before folding.

Jones Doubles Through Green

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Action folded to Noomis Jones in early position, and he raised pot to 84,000. It folded around to Perry Green in the small blind, and he made the call. The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, and Green bet enough to put Jones all in. Jones shook his head while rechecking his hole cards, but decided he had too much in there to fold, and made the call for his last 74,000.

Jones: {6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Green: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Both players had paired their ace, and Green was looking to either hit two pair for the win, or hope that a low card came to give him half. Well the {5-Clubs} came on the turn, giving Jones the lead, and the river was the {10-Spades}, sealing the full double up for him.

After that pot, Green is down to 300,000, while Jones is up to 360,000.

Stephen Johnson Eliminated in 10th Place ($14,430)

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Stephen Johnson - 10th Place
Stephen Johnson - 10th Place

Johnson raised pot from early position to 84,000, which was for most of his chips. Action folded around to Gabriel Blumenthal in the big blind, and he announced all in. Johnson called, and the cards were tabled.

Blumenthal: {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Johnson: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

Johnson's aces were in the lead, but that all changed when the flop came down {10-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. Blumenthal had flopped broadway, and Johnson would need a king or runner runner to stay alive. The {5-Spades} hit the turn, and the {2-Spades} came on the river, busting Johnson out just before the official final table.
