Marder Runs Out of Timex

Michael Marder moved all in from the cutoff for his last 7,500 and was called by Mike "Timex" McDonald and Mark Boyle in the blinds. Both active players checked the {3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Spades} flop, as well as the {6-Diamonds} turn, and McDonald bet 5,000 on the {J-Diamonds} river.

Boyle got out of the way and McDonald showed {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for a king-high flush, which bested Marder's {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} ten-high flush.

Yang Gives Back a Few

Jerry Yang opened for 3,600 from late position, and the big blind called. The flop came {6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, and when checked to Yang bet 4,600. His opponent called. The turn was the {K-Spades}, and this time Yang's opponent pushed out a bet of 8,000, and Yang called.

The river brought the {10-Hearts} and a bet of 12,000 from the big blind. Yang thought for two full minutes, then let his hand go.

Stocz Tackled Short of the Goal Line

Former Detroit Lions tight end Eric Stocz has been eliminated. Stocz was hoping to match or better his 2011 WSOP Main Event performance in which he cashed for $30,974 after finishing 402nd. But he began today with a short stack of just over 46,000, and was knocked out during the first level of Day 3.

Nasserazad Doubles Beginning Stack, Eliminates Farha

While making the rounds we found Michael Nasserazad with a stack north of 500,000. He started the day with 244,000 so we got an opportunity to chat with him for a second.

He told us he doubled up on the second hand of the day holding {A-} {K-} against {A-} {Q-} when an ace flopped. Then he said he won a couple of hands off of Sammy Farha to get some chips as well.

On Farha's elimination hand Nasserazad held {K-} {9-} and rivered a straight against Farha.

Chan Loses A Chunk

There was already a big pot brewing between Johnny Chan and Chau Nguyen when we arrived at the table. There was about 24,000 in the middle, and the board read {9-Spades}{a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. Nguyen fired out a bet of 15,200, and Chan tossed in the call after about 20 seconds of thought. The river brought the {10-Clubs}, putting four cards to broadway on the board. Nguyen checked after a few moments of thought, and Chan did the same shortly after.

Nguyen flipped over {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for a turned set, and Chan slammed the stack of chips he was shuffling on the table, before folding his hand. As he did, the {a-Hearts} flashed. After the hand, Chan is down to 165,000.

Yang Chips Up

2007 WSOP Main Event champ Jerry Yang returned to an above average stack for today's Day 3, and just now came a hand in which he added more to it.

We picked this one up on the flop with the board showing {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and about 7,500 already in the middle. Yang's opponent, playing from under the gun, fired a bet of 5,300, and Yang called from a couple of seats over. The turn was the {3-Clubs}, after which Yang's opponent bet 10,000. Yang called once more.

The river brought the {6-Clubs}, and this time the UTG player checked. Yang took the opportunity to bet 21,000, and after thinking for more than two minutes his opponent let his hand go.

Seed Can't Push Croak Off the Hand

Katie Dozier, who you might recognize as a member of the Grindettes, opened for 3,200 from middle position and received calls from Robert Croak and Huck Seed in the cutoff and button respectively.

All three players proceeded to check the {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop, bringing about the {J-Diamonds} turn. At that points, Seed checked, Dozier bet 6,000, and Croak called. Seed then woke up with a check-raise to 26,000, Dozier got out of the way, and Croak called once again. Both players then checked the {5-Clubs} river and Croak said, "Jack," before showing {J-Spades}{10-Spades}.

"I knew that's what you had," Seed said before lazily tossing his cards to the muck.

Schafer Calls Bucaric Down

Three players saw a flop of {7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{a-Hearts}, including James Schafer, who finished 22nd in the 2011 WSOPE Main Event, Matthew Bucaric, who finished 26th in the 2010 WSOP Main Event, and 2011 WSOP bracelet winner Athanasios Polychronopoulos. Schafer checked, Bucaric fired 5,200, and both Polychronopoulos and Schafer called.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds}, and Schafer checked again. Bucaric tossed out 13,700, Polychronopoulos folded, and Schafer called.

The {5-Spades} completed the board, and Schafer checked a third and final time. Bucaric bet 32,400, and Schafer quickly called. Bucaric turned over {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for sevens and fives, but Schafer had him beat with {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for aces and fives.

Schafer is flirting with a 200,000-chip stack, while Bucaric slipped down to 62,000.
