Bari Finds a Double

Allen Bari
Allen Bari

Pot-Limit Omaha

With approximately 19,000 already in the pot, the board read {A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} between Allen Bari and Andrew Robl. The two got all of the money in on the turn with Bari the one at risk. He held the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} for a set of fives and a flush draw. Robl held the {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a pair of aces, a flush draw and a straight draw.

The river completed the board with the {7-Spades} and Bari won the pot to double up. Robl was left knocked down to 10,000 in chips while Bari moved to about 225,000.

Fitoussi Takes Some From Binger, Arieh Busted

Limit Hold'em

Michael Binger raised it up from the cutoff and Bruno Fitoussi defended his big blind. The flop came down {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Binger called Fitoussi's check-raise. The turn was the {7-Spades} and Fitoussi bet, Binger called.

On the river, the {8-Diamonds}, Fitoussi bet once more and Binger called again. Fitoussi showed {J-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Binger showed his {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, which weren't enough.

We also found out Josh Arieh got knocked out by John D'Agostino in Razz, unfortunately there are no details about how this happened.

Antonius Takes One From Kravchenko

Limit Hold'em

Alexander Kravchenko just raised from the button and Patrik Antonius defended his big blind. The flop came down {A-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Antonius checked. Kravchenko bet, Antonius raised and Kravchenko four-bet. Antonius called and the turn was the {5-Diamonds}.

Antonius went for the check-raise again, and Kravchenko called. The river was the {K-Diamonds} and Antonius bet. Kravchenko decided to give it up and tossed his cards into the muck. Antonius took this sizable pot without showdown and is back up to 140,700.

Notables Missing This Year

Level 8

There were 108 players to register for this event this year, but even so, some very big notable faces are missing from the mix. Some of the players that come mind that did not play are former champions Scotty Nguyen and Freddy Deeb, along with Erik Seidel, Jen Harman, Ben Lamb, Joe Hachem, Isaac Haxton, Carlos Mortensen, Tom Dwan and Eli Elezra. Even without them in the field (and that's a hefty list of names), the tournament is stacked.
