Gregorich Grabs Chips from Chad

Mark Gregorich
Mark Gregorich

Stud-8

Mark Gregorich brought it in with the {5-Clubs} up, Norman Chad completed with the {6-Clubs}, and Gregorich called. Gregorich caught the {5-Spades} on fourth street to make an open pair, but check-called Chad's bets on fourth, fifth, and sixth. Gregorich then led with a bet on seventh, and Chad called.

Gregorich: {x-}{x-} / {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} / {x-}
Chad: {x-}{x-} / {6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} / {x-}

"Trips," said Gregorich as he showed his down cards — {Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Chad looked over at his opponent's hand, then turned over {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{6-Hearts} to show he'd made aces and sixes. Gregorich scooped the pot.

Wing Wong - 7th place
Wing Wong - 7th place

Omaha-8

Wing Wong opened with a raise from under the gun, and it folded around to George Danzer in the big blind who called. The flop came {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}, Danzer bet, Wong raised with what he had left, and Danzer called.

Danzer: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Wong: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

The turn brought the {A-Spades} to improve Wong to trip aces, but the {2-Hearts} fell on the river to give Danzer a winning flush, and Wong is out.

Wong All In and Chops

Omaha-8

Wing Wong raised all in from early position, and was called by Yuval Bronshtein, Norman Chad, and Oleksii Kovalchuk. The flop fell {8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, and all three players checked.

Chad led after the {7-Spades} turned, and both Kovalchuk and Bronshtein called. All three players checked again when the {a-Hearts} completed the board, and the hands were opened.

Tim Burt
Tim Burt

Stud-8

After losing the bulk of his short stack in a hand versus Yuval Bronshtein, Tim Burt was down to just 6,000 to start the next hand. Norman Chad completed, Danny Ratigan called, and Burt went ahead and committed his last chips.

On fourth Chad check-called a Ratigan bet, then check-folded on fifth. The remaining players tabled their down cards.

Chad: {x-}{x-} / {7-Clubs}{A-Spades}{9-Diamonds} — FOLDED
Burt: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} / {6-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Ratigan: {2-Clubs}{7-Spades} / {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Ratigan drew the {7-Hearts} and the {J-Hearts} to make a flush, and Burt picked up the {K-Hearts} and then mucked his last card, hitting the rail in eighth place.

Danzer Wins Huge Stud Pot

Stud-8

Norman Chad{x-}{x-} / {6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{q-Spades} / {x-}

Danzer brought it in, Gregorich completed, and Chad called. Danzer called as well, and all three players checked on fourth street. On fifth, Danzer checked, Gregorich bet, and both Chad and Danzer called. Gregorich slowed down, checking on sixth, and Chad bet. Danzer called, and Gregorich folded.

Chad checked dark going to seventh, and was forced to fold when Danzer bet.

Ratigan Doubles

Omaha-8

George Danzer raised, Danny Ratigan three-bet, and Danzer made it four bets. Ratigan called. The flop fell {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, and Danzer led out. Ratigan raised, and Danzer re-raised enough to put Ratigan all in. He called.

Danzer{k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Ratigan{a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

The {4-Clubs} on the turn was gin for Ratigan, because it gave him an ace-high flush and a low. The {10-Hearts} on the board didn't help Danzer, and Ratigan doubled.

A few hands later, Ratigan won a stud pot off of Norman Chad, and now sits with 275,000 chips.

Danzer Scoops, Fans Whoop

Omaha-8

George Danzer raised from middle position, and Yuval Bronshtein called from the big blind. The flop came {6-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts}, and Bronshtein checked. Danzer paused a beat, then pushed out a bet, and Bronshtein called.

The turn then brought the {9-Diamonds} and a bet from Bronshtein, which Danzer quickly raised. Bronshtein called once more.

The river was the {7-Hearts}, and this time Bronshtein checked. Danzer bet, Bronshtein called, then Danzer showed {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. As the announcer explained, Danzer held both the nut low and two pair, and both were evidently good as Bronshtein folded.

"The double nuts!" yelled one of Danzer's supporters, causing the table to laugh. Danzer grinned and explained to the table that his rail didn't know a lot about poker, "but they are great supporters."
