Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier Eliminated in 3rd Place ($447,074)

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier - 3rd Place
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier - 3rd Place

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier had the button, and open-shoved for about 1.7 million. Joe Ebanks re-shoved from the small blind, Chris Moorman, surrendered his big blind, and the hands were opened.

Grospellier: {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Ebanks: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The dealer rapped the table, burned a card, then fanned {5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

The British rail roared loudly, rooting for Ebanks so that Moorman would be heads up for the bracelet.

The crowd got even louder when the {3-Clubs} turned, and Grospellier was down to one final card.

The river was paint, but the {q-Hearts} wasn't enough for ElkY, and he was eliminated from the tournament. He placed his hands on his head in disappointment, then eventually shook both Ebanks and Moorman's hands before exiting.

The Team PokerStars pro will not leave empty handed - he banked $447,074 for his efforts, and is now in second place in the 2011 World Series of Poker Player of the Year race.
