Some General Table Talk

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

"Oh my God dude. This guy smelt so bad!"

Stated a player pointing to the empty chair next to him that recently had been vacated.

"I swear he hadn't showered in three days! Even my friends were saying things!"

Aguiar Loses Flip

Jonathan Aguiar got his opponent to put all of his chips in the middle preflop for a pot totaling around 270,000 in chips. Aguiar was holding {A-}{K-} to his opponent's {J-}{J-}. The jacks held and Aguiar has now dropped to around 60,000 in chips.

Akkari Hits an Ace

Andre Akkari
Andre Akkari

Andre Akkari made it 6,500 from late position. Action folded around to the player in the big blind who moved all in. Akkari quickly made the call and the hands were turned up:

Akkari: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Opponent: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Akkari struck gold when the flop came {5-Clubs}{A-Spades}{3-Hearts}. He kept the lead through the turn and river, as they fell {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. Akkari is now almost up to 100,000 in chips, while his opponent was left crippled with around 10,000.

Aron Good

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Tim West just took a bit of a hit at the expense of Robert Aron, the board was reading {A-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Spades}{K-Clubs}{3-Spades} and West checked, Aron tanking for a moment before checking back.

"Ace!" declared West but Aron flipped {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a cheeky winning two pair.

Justout

Justin Bonomo was one of two players knocked out in a double elimination, the dealer had already mucked the two losing hands but the winner's {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} was proudly displayed next to a board of {J-}{J-}{5-}{2-}{5-}. We're close to getting into double figures for our remaining players.

Up the Watt-age

On a {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} flop we found Mike Allis betting out 10,000 with Simon Watt making the call as the {K-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Allis checked and Watt fired out 15,000 with Allis making the call before leading for 30,000 when the {A-Diamonds} landed on the river.

Watt made the call, and when Allis showed his {Q-Spades}{8-Spades}, Watt tabled his {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for trips to take the pot and move over the 300,000-chip mark as Allis slipped to 175,000 in chips.
