Solomon Wins Battle of Pot-Limit Hold'em Experts-ish

Jarred Solomon (earlier in the WSOP)
Jarred Solomon (earlier in the WSOP)

On a flop of {6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{K-Spades}, we found Andrew Cohen firing out a continuation-bet of 850 into a pot of roughly a little over 1,000.

His lone opponent in the hand - Jarred Solomon - slid out a check-raise from the big blind amounting to 1,775, but when the action returned to Cohen in the cutoff, he made it 3,875.

The South African Solomon instantly moved all in for 10,475, and after two minutes in the tank, Cohen angled his cards to the muck.

Both players have made deep runs already this series with Solomon finishing in second place in the $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em Championship, while Cohen finished in tenth place in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em event.

Hinkle Halted by Lee

With a limper in early position, Lee made it 875 to go from middle position. The action folded to Blair Hinkle on the button, and he shoved for roughly 7,000. The blinds folded, as did the limper, before Lee made the call.

Lee: {A-}{A-}
Hinkle: {3-}{3-}

The board ran out clean with it being spread {Q-}{Q-}{8-}{7-}{6-} to see Hinkle sent to the rail as Lee heads to dinner with nearly 30,000 in chips.

Terry Takes A Hit

We went over to the table where Theo Tran and Todd Terry are sitting side by side and saw the two of them in a hand with one other player. The board read {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, and Tran had bet 1,000 after the opponent in the small blind checked to him. Terry called, but the small blind decided to make a small raise to 2,125 total. Tran folded fairly quickly and Terry went deep into the tank. About two minutes later, Terry put a big stack of the yellow T1000 chips in, and his opponent called instantly for the rest of his stack.

Terry: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Small Blind: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}

Terry had flopped top pair, but his opponent turned an unbeatable set. The river came the {9-Clubs}, and Terry's stack was cut in half.

Solomon Silenced

Jarred Solomon opened to 750 only to have an opponent a few seats over three-bet to 2,200. Solomon made the call before checking the {J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop.

His opponent fired out a continuation-bet of 3,000 only to have Solomon ship it all in for roughly 12,000. His opponent made the call tabling his {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} to be in great shape against Solomon's {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

The turn and river landed the {4-Hearts} and {4-Clubs} to see Solomon sent to the rail.
