Vilkki Re-Pots, Patel Folds

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

After the action folded around to him in the small blind, Emil Patel raised the pot and made it 60,000 to go. Juha Vilkki announced a re-pot and pushed 180,000 into the middle.

After some consideration, Patel tossed his cards towards the muck and Vilkki claimed the pot.

Cody Munger Eliminated in 7th Place ($34,642)

Cody Munger - 7th Place
Cody Munger - 7th Place

Cody Munger raised to 40,000 from the cutoff seat and Emil Patel reraised to 140,000 from the small blind. Action got back to Munger and he made the call to see the flop.

The first three community cards were the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Patel checked. Munger fired the pot for 300,000 and Patel raised the pot to put Munger all in. Munger called and put his entire 455,000-chip stack at risk.

Munger: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Patel: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Needless to say, Patel pretty much flopped the mother of all hands. He flopped the nuts with the nut flush redraw. The turn brought the {K-Hearts} and gave Patel a flush. The river completed the board with the {J-Spades} and officially ended the hand, sending Munger out the door in seventh place for nearly $35,000 in prize money.

Wolfe Doubles Through Vilkki

Stephen Wolfe
Stephen Wolfe

From under the gun, Juha Vilkki raised to 45,000. Rafe Kibrit was in the next seat and called. Stephen Wolfe called from the cutoff seat and everyone else folded.

The flop came down {J-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} and action checked over to Wolfe. He bet 150,000 with 181,000 behind. Vilkki looked confused for a minute while he tanked. He then reraised the pot. Kibrit folded and Wolfe quickly called all in for 331,000 total.

Wolfe: {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Vilkki: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The turn brought the {10-Spades} and the river completed the board with the {4-Spades}, keeping Wolfe's set of nines the winning hand and doubling him up.

Jeff Sarwer Eliminated In 8th Place ($26,704)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Jeff Sarwer - 8th Place
Jeff Sarwer - 8th Place

Jeff Sarwer opened for a pot-sized raise of 70,000 and Juha Vilkki instantly announced that he was re-potting, making it 240,000 to go. Sarwer shot the Finn a rueful glance and smiled slightly while making the call to put his tournament life at risk.

Sarwer asked "You got aces man?" and Vilkki answered by turning over his hand: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. Sarwer was immediately crushed to see that his intuition was correct and tabled his {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} with discouragement written across his face. His pocket kings were crushed and to add insult to injury, Vilkki held a king of his own. He also had Sarwer's diamond-draw blocked and Sarwer knew he was drawing extremely thin.

The flop rolled out {2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and no help arrived. Sarwer was left hoping for a seven on the turn or river, but when the {6-Clubs} and {A-Hearts} hit the board, his run had ended. He will collect $26,704 for his finish today while Vilkki climbed to 720,000 chips with the bustout.

Patel Staying Active

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Emil Patel has easily been the most active player at this final table, especially since he doubled up earlier to get his hands on a larger stack. Four hands in a row just happened where Patel opened with a raise to 40,000 preflop. On the first and third, everyone folded and he won the blinds. On the second hand, Juha Vilkki three-bet to 150,000 and Patel folded.

On the fourth one, he was called by both blinds, Cody Munger in the small blind and Jeff Sarwer in the big blind. After the flop came down {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, Munger checked and Sarwer bet the pot for 120,000. Patel and Munger folded and Sarwer picked up the pot.

Roland Israelashvili Eliminated In 9th Place ($20,863)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Roland Israelashvili - 9th Place
Roland Israelashvili - 9th Place

After the action folded to him in late position, Roland Israelashvili raised the pot, making it 70,000 to go. Juha Vilkki sized up his opponent's remaining chips and then dramatically heaped a stack of 25,000 denomination chips into the middle for a pot-sized reraise. This forced Israelashvili all-in and he made the call to put himself at risk.

Showdown:

Israelashvili: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Vilkki: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Israelashvili was in the lead for the moment but Vilkki's hand had plenty of potential and we were off to the flop. The dealer spread the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{4-Hearts} across the felt and Vilkki took the lead with his pair of kings. The {A-Clubs} on the turn gave Israelashvili a lifeline with a club flush draw, but the {6-Diamonds} on the river missed him entirely and Vilkki's two pair were best.

Roland Israelashvili will pocket $20,863 for his run to the final table, while Juha Vilkki rebuilt his once dominant chipstack slightly with the win.
