Wolfe Slips

From under the gun, Stephen Wolfe raised to 100,000. Elie Payan called from the big blind to see the flop come down {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Both players checked and the turn brought the {9-Clubs}. After Payan checked, Wolfe bet 150,000. Payan made the call.

The {5-Clubs} completed the board on the river and both players checked. Payan showed the {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for a diamond flush. Wolfe flashed just the {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} from his hand and mucked his other two cards.

Emil Patel Eliminated In 6th Place ($45,554)

From the hijack position, Emil Patel raised to 105,000 and Stephen Wolfe made the call out of the big blind. The flop fell {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Wolfe led out for a bet of 225,000. Patel instantly announced a reraise of the pot, putting himself all-in and Wolfe beat him to the pot with his call.

Showdown:

Patel: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{K-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Wolfe: {3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Patel held a pair of queens and a four flush, while Wolfe had a wrap draw and could hit a number of cards to complete his straight.

Turn: {4-Spades}

One of those cards arrived on the turn and Wolfe vaulted into the lead with his straight. Patel would need to spike a queen for a full house or a club to make a flush if he hoped to survive.

River: {K-Hearts}

Wolfe pumped his fist in the air when he saw the safe card and yelled "Yes!" as the pot was pushed his way. Emil Patel hit the rail in 6th place and will take home a prize of $45,554 for his deep run through this field of over a thousand runners.

Rafe's Reraise Pushes Payan Off His Hand

Rafe Kibrit raised to 52,000 on his button and Elie Payan made the call from the small blind. The dealer flopped {9-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and Payan checked it, prompting a bet of 86,000 by Kibrit.

Payan came along and the turn card fell {A-Spades}. After a moment of study, Payan decided he liked the previous bet and fired his own 86,000 into the middle. Kibrit decided to peel one off and called, bringing the {J-Spades} to the board.

The Frenchman known as "Punisher934" online slowly stacked a bet of 306,000 and slid it forward, but when he heard Kibrit announce "raise the pot," Payan mucked his cards. This misstep cost Payan 530,000 chips and Kibrit built his stack to nearly 2,000,000 with the power play.
