Two Pair, Two Million

Johnny Lodden has more than 2.0 million in chips after taking a modest pot off of Denis Pisarev. Lodden opened for 50,000 from late position pre-flop, with Pisarev calling from the button. Lodden checked an ace-high flop, {2-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, then called a bet of 65,000 from Pisarev.

Both players checked the {2-Hearts} turn. At the {7-Hearts} river, Lodden led into Pisarev for 205,000. Pisarev snap-called, but couldn't beat {a-Clubs}{7-Spades} that Lodden tabled for two pair, aces and sevens. Pisarev mucked and fell to about 365,000 in chips.

No Quads Over Quads

Jameson Singer moved all in for his last 150,000 preflop. Juha Helppi thought for a little while before folding but Derek Gibb made the call.

Singer: {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Gibb: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board smacked Gibb pretty hard when it ran out {4-Hearts}{A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{4-Clubs} to make him quad aces and send Singer to the rail.

In only Helppi had played, then we might've had one helluva hand to report. What did Helppi fold? Pocket fours!

One Last, Fiery Breath for Dragan

In a battle of the blinds, Dragan Galic found {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} and Scott Clements {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades}, and all of Galic's ~490,000 chips found their way into the middle of the table. He was at risk as the cards were turned up, and the ESPN cameras scurried into position for the board.

There was a king right away for Galic, but it was of not a good flop overall. Clements found his set as it came {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {3-Spades}, and he delivered a piercing wound to Dragan. Galic stumbled back to his feet on the {K-Hearts} turn, picking up four outs for his survival. He took his last breath as the {9-Diamonds} fell on fifth street, however, and Galic has fallen.

Clements is up to 1.85 million after slaying the Dragan.

Luis Busts Brown and Takes Chip Lead

Jamie Brown was all in preflop and called in two spots. Damien Luis called and Pejmanpatric Eskandar called. Luis and Eskandar both checked down the flop, turn and river as the board ran out {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}.

Eskandar showed the {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for top pair, but was beat by Luis' {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} with the better kicked. Brown showed that he got his money in very good with the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} dominating both of his opponents. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't hold on and was eliminated from the tournament.

Luis scooped the pot and is now the chip leader with 4.665 million.

The Grinder on the Go

With the board showing {J-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Thomas Vinas checked, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi bet 100,000, Vinas raised to 250,000, Mizrachi reraised to 600,000, and Vinas finally stepped aside.

That pot took Mizrachi to 1.93 million. He won the next hand, too, and now sits with about 2.3 million.

Nassif Doubles

With the action on Daniel Chamberlain in the cutoff, he raised to 44,000 only to have Gabriel Nassif move all in from the button for 456,000.

Chamberlain made the call and we were off to a showdown.

Chamberlain: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}
Nassif: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{K-Clubs} to see Nassif double through to 969,000 in chips.

Robert Mizrachi Doubles Up

We caught up with this one after the chips went in the middle, but the table had folded around to our new chip leader Robert Pisano in the small blind and a short-stacked Robert Mizrachi in the big blind. However the pair handled the situation, the result was Mizrachi was all in before the flop for his last 239,000 with {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and hoping to survive versus Pisano's {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

The flop came made to order for Mizrachi -- {10-Spades}{K-Hearts}{J-Spades} -- giving him the straight right off. The turn was the {K-Clubs} and river the {3-Diamonds}, and Mizrachi doubled to close to 500,000. Pisano still has 4.05 million.
