Jerry Yang Eliminated

Jerry Yang moved all-in from the small blind for 3,200 and the big blind made the call. Yang turned over {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and was behind to his opponent's {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

Yang hit top pair on the {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop, but his opponent turned an ace. The river was the {7-Clubs} and Jerry Yang's Main Event came to an end as he was trailed out of the room by ESPN's cameras.

Dwan Folds to the Five-Bet

Tom Dwan continues to create a stir at his table. He recently four-bet pre-flop to 5,125 from the button after a player opened for 825 and a second player re-raised to 2,250. Dwan's four-bet was enough to fold the first raiser, but the second then moved all in with a five-bet. Dwan, with 15,000 behind his initial raise, mucked his hand.

Quadruple Quack Quack?

If we're titling a post with "Quack Quack" in it, you know we're talking about Paul Magriel. Magriel opened with a "quack, quack" bet of 2,200 on a flop of {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}. One opponent called. When the turn fell {j-Spades}, Magriel made it "quadruple quack, quack" -- or 8,800. That bet induced a fold.

"Quadruple quack, quack worked," said Magriel. He now as about 39,000.

More Farha Gold

Sammy Farha is now up to 77,000 after raking in more chips with his any-two-cards approach. We caught this one on the river with the board reading {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Farha fired 4,000 and his opponent made the call.

Farha showed {Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for two pair which was good to collect the pot.

Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

Tom Dwan
Tom Dwan

Tom Dwan let one of those pesky showdown things get in the way of his chip accumulation process. Sitting in the big blind, he led a three-way flop of {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for 1,425 and was called by only Lee Markholt. When the turn fell {6-Hearts}, Dwan's bet of 3,450 was enough to put Markholt all in. Markholt quickly called with trip tens, {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and was up against Dwan's pocket sevens, {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Cue a river brick to double Markholt up to 12,000 and drop Dwan to roughly the same amount.

Outhred Two Outed

Alex Outhred was heads up in a big pot. There was about 27,000 the middle by the river of a board reading {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Outhred's opponent fired 20,000, and Alex called. He held pocket queens, but they were no good as his opponent rolled over {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a rivered set. The loss dropped Outhred to 53,000.

All Aboard!

Johnny Chan
Johnny Chan

Another tail-end pot.

The board read {7-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {6-Diamonds} on Johnny Chan's table, and there had been some heavy action between he and an early-position opponent who ended up tabling {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}. Chan managed to work his {K-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} into a flush, though, and that was indeed better than three sevens.

Johnny Chan looks like our chip leader again, sitting pretty with 165,000 now.

Ozzy's Cold Four-Bet Freezes Yang

The under-the-gun player opened for 750 and Jerry Yang flat-called from his immediate left. The action folded around to the cutoff, who three-bet to 3,000. The button and small blind folded, and [Removed:163] made a cold four-bet to 9,000. The UTG player insta-mucked and the action was on Yang.

"I don't know if I can wait for another hand," he wondered aloud to the circling ESPN cameras, before making the fold.

The cutoff asked for a count from Sheikh (had had about 16,500 behind) and tanked for quite a while.

"Queens no good, I guess," he said as he tossed his hand into the muck.

Sheikh took down the pot and is back up to 29,500.

Appleman Busto

Mickey Appleman's cooler hand wasn't the standard kings into aces. Appleman marched to a different drum and ran queens into kings. The end result was the same -- kings held up on a nine-high board to run Appleman right out of the tournament.

Chips to Build With

Carlos Mortensen
Carlos Mortensen

There were four players to the flop of {7-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {6-Spades} right here in front of us on the Red featured table. Carlos Mortensen was the first one to bet at the pot, sliding out 1,400 chips. Dan Smith called right next door, and the two would go heads up the rest of the way.

Smith called 3,000 on the turn {J-Clubs}, but both players check-checked the {9-Clubs} river. Mortensen showed {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}, and Kelly re-checked his cards about nine times before sliding they hit the muck.

Mortensen - 25,000
Smith - 95,000
