It's Getting Chilly For Lieu

A raise to 600 was met with two callers before Liz Lieu popped it up to 2,000 from the small blind. All three opponents called to see a flop of {6-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Action checked around and the {A-Clubs} hit the turn. Again action checked to Angel Guillen who fired 4,000 which was enough to take the pot.

Guillen is at 31,000 with Lieu down to 26,000.

The players seated at this table are currently suffering from the air conditioning vents which are blowing cold air directly on their table. Liz Lieu and two other players have their hoodies pulled down tightly over their head and Lieu has already Tweeted about how freezing her table is. She's not making it up, it's very cold there. Every player at the table is rugged up with a sweater of some sort and most are sitting with arms folded trying to keep warm.

Two Girls, One Pot

Alexia Portal and Veronica Dabul
Alexia Portal and Veronica Dabul

Veronica Dabul raised to 550 under the gun, and Alexia Portal called all the way around in the big blind. The two ladies went heads up the rest of the way, starting with a flop of {5-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {9-Clubs}. Portal check-called a bet of 625 there, and Dabul checked behind her after the {10-Spades} turn.

That brought them to the river {J-Hearts}, and Portal checked again. When Dabul made one last bet of 1,050, Portal tank-called. Dabul tabled {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for two pair, and that was good enough for her to win the pot.

Portal - 32,600
Dabul - 29,800

Powell Doubles, No Sweat

Jack Powell managed to get his opponent to stack off drawing completely stone dead. Powell, Mahmood Ayaz and a third player took a flop of {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Action checked to the third player, whose bet of 3,000 was called only by Powell. Powell checked again on the {6-Clubs} turn, then shoved all in for 22,000 after his opponent fired a second bullet for 5,000. That player called with {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} for two overcards and the nut flush draw, but none of those outs were good against Powell's full house, {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. He doubled up to 54,000 without having to sweat the river card.

Maceiras Massacred

On a {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop, Juan Macerias checked from the small blind, an early position player bet 850 and Maceiras raised to 2,300. Mr. Early Position called and they went to the turn, which fell the {8-Clubs}. Maceiras checked again, his opponent bet 3,000 and Maceiras raised all-in for his remaining 9,000. Mr. Early Position called, turning over {8-Spades}{9-Spades} for two pair while Maceiras showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} for a flush draw. The river bricked off with the {5-Spades} and Maceiras' Main Event came to an end.

Flipper Spun On Warne

With around 3,500 in the pot and the board reading {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, Shane Warne led out for 2,000 from the small blind.

His opponent - seated on his direct right - made it 5,100 to go to put Warne into the tank.

A few minutes went by before Warne made the call as the {Q-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Warne checked, his opponent fired out 7,350, and Warne released his hand to slip to 20,700 in the process.

Chan Not Afraid of the Flush

Terrence Chan
Terrence Chan

With about 5,000 in the pot, the flop came out {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and a player in middle position bet 1,500. Terrence Chan made the call and the {9-Spades} came on the turn.

Both players checked to see the {2-Spades} on the river, at which point the middle position player bet 2,600. Despite there being four spades on the board, Chan called and showed {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for two pair, which was good enough to take down the pot and increase his stack to 39,000.
