Solomon Flops Broadway to Stay Alive

No-Limit

Jarred Solomon moved all in for 119,000. It was folded around to Jamie Rosen in the big blind who made the call.

Rosen: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Solomon: {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

"Jack-ball!" shouted Solomon's rail.

They didn't get the jack-ball, instead, they got something better. Solomon flopped Broadway when it rolled out {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. Solomon's rail went wild.

The turn brought the {10-Clubs} and Rosen would need to catch one of the remaining jacks in the deck to eliminate his opponent.

Solomon's rail began shouting for a deuce so that their comrade's tournament hopes would stay alive.

The river brought the {10-Spades} and Solomon's rail went wild again, as they saw him double up.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and checks from both players. The river was the {7-Clubs}. Rosen bet, and Smith raised. Rosen paused, then made it three bets. Smith called, and Rosen flipped over {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} for the straight. Smith mucked.

Smith is still above a million, while Rosen chips up to 640,000.

Solomon Slide, Smith Surge Continue

Limit

It folded to Gavin Smith who raised from the button, and Jarred Solomon called from the small blind. The flop came {6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. Solomon checked, Smith bet, Solomon check-raised, Smith made it three bets, and Solomon called.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds}. Solomon checked, and when Smith bet Solomon went deep into the tank. He shook his head, grimaced, and held the brim of his cap as he contemplated what to do. The day hasn't gone so well thus far for Solomon, who began as our chip leader and now finds himself becoming dangerously short.

Finally Solomon let the hand go, preserving his stack of 125,000. Smith dragged the pot, and is now up over 1.2 million.

The {5-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Smith check-called a bet from Hannawa.

Smith again check-called a bet from Hannawa on the river {5-Clubs}.

Hannawa showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for the nut flush to take the pot.
