Gabe Kaplan enjoyed a chip advantage over Dustin Woolf for much of their match. Finally, down to 16,000, Woolf shoved from the small blind/button with , and Kaplan called with .
The community cards got along much better with Kaplan's hand than with Woolf's, coming , giving Kaplan a full house.
"That was tough!" said Kaplan with a smile. We'll be welcoming him back tomorrow.
Andrew Rosskamm had chipped Tom "durrrr" Dwan back down to about 40,000 when a hand arose in which Rosskamm raised enough to put Dwan all in. Dwan sat in contemplation for several seconds, staring straight ahead into his opponent's sunglasses.
Finally Dwan called, tabling . Rosskamm turned over .
The dealer swiftly delivered the community cards -- -- and Dwan's day is done. Rosskamm moves on to Round 3.
After regaining the chip lead, Vivek Rajkumar found in the big blind and duly raised Leonid Yanovski's 5,000 button raise to 18,000. Yanovski moved all in and Rajkumar snapped him off.
Rajkumar:
Yanovski:
Despite being ahead, the Poker Gods slapped Yanovski firmly in the face by delivering one of Rajkumar's three outs, the board coming to finish the match.
Vivek Rajkumar has doubled up opponent Leonid Yanovski twice in quick succession. On the first hand, Yanovski was all in for 15,300 with versus and survived an eventful board. Then, a few hands later, increased his stack two-fold once again, cruelly out-drawing on an ensuing board. As a result, Rajkumar has lost his chip lead and now has 40,000 in chips to Yanovski's 80,000.
There are few tables remaining here in Round 2, but the encounter which is garnering the most attention is that of Tom Dwan versus Andrew Rosskamm. As Erik Seidel looks on from the end of the table, a camera sits menacingly above, capturing the action from multiple angles.
Meanwhile, Dwan is entwined in a hand and facing a bet of 12,000 on a board. His opponent is determined not to give a read, his hood zipped up to his nose, whilst his sunglasses ensure there is little flesh on offer.
But when Dwan announces all-in for a total of 22,800, the hood is removed and the mystery of Rosskamm is finally revealed. Now it's time for Dwan to return the favour with his own poker face, and it's one of disgust, almost as if he's just been told some tragic news that he's unable to digest.
His foe keeps him waiting for a long time, and fortunately there is no light in his eye on this occasion as he remains cucumber cool. Eventually, and after pitching up tent in the tank, Rosskamm finally makes the fold - showing the in the process - and Dwan picks up a vital, potentially match-turning pot.
Ryan Young has doubled up to 81,000 and is now in dominating shape against the flamboyantly named Fabrizio Baldassari. It was Young who began proceedings, raising his button to 5,000 only to see Baldassari raise to 12,000 from the big blind. Young moved all in for 40,500 and Baldassari made the call.
