The two players are taking a break.

We would like to tell you how long exactly, but this is how the Tournament Director announced it, "the players are taking a short break and we will see you in 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes!"

Match 1: Schmejkalling

Ernst Schmejkal
Ernst Schmejkal

Ernst Schmejkal limped, Ayaz Mahmood raised to 460,000 total, and Schmejkal called.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Both checked. The turn was the {4-Spades}. Mahmood bet 350,000, and Schmejkal called. The river was the {3-Hearts}. This time Mahmood bet 750,000, and after a bit of thought Schmejkal called again.

"Jacks," said Mahmood, turning over {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Schmejkal flipped over {Q-Spades}{6-Spades} for the better pair, and took the pot.

Schmejkal now has 4.925 million to Mahmood's 2.725 million.

Match 1: River Spike Double For Schmejkal

Ernst Schmejkal open-jammed for his last 1,560,000 from the button and was instantly called by Ayaz Mahmood from the big blind.

Schmejkal: {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Mahmood: {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The {Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop kept Mahmood in the lead, and after the {5-Spades} landed on the turn, it seemed certin that the first match would go to Mahmood.

Unfortunately someone wanted the torture to continue as the {K-Spades} spiked on the river to see Schmejkal double through to 3,120,000 as Mahmood slipped back down to 4,560,000 in chips.

Match 1: Schmejkal Doubles

Ernst Schmejkal limped from the button, and Ayaz Mahmood raised to 560,000. Schmejkal announced he was all in, and Mahmood called.

Schmejkal {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Mahmood {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

Just the second time all night we've seen a player at risk this way, and it was Schmejkal again. But the board went {6-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, and Schmejkal survived. He's back in the lead with 4.38 million to Mahmood's 3.3 million.

Match 1: Pair of Aces for Mahmood

Ernst Schmejkal made it 325,000 to go from the button and Ayaz Mahmood made the call from the big blnd.

The {J-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} flop was checked through to see the {2-Hearts} fall on the turn and Mahmood fire out 550,000. Schmejkal called and when the river landed the {10-Clubs} both players checked.

Mahmood tabled his {A-Diamonds}(X) to take down the pot as Schmejkal flashed what appeared to be two diamonds to see Mahmood collect the pot.

Match 1: An Eight Is Enough For Schmejkal

Ernst Schmejkal opened to 325,000 from the button and Ayaz Mahmood made the call to see a {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{A-Spades} flop fall and checks follow from both players.

The turn of the {8-Clubs} found Mahmood firing out a 325,000-chip bet with Schmejkal making the call as the {9-Clubs} spiked on the river.

Both players checked and Schmejkal tabled his {10-Clubs}{8-Spades} to collect the pot and move a little closer to Mahmood.
