Kyung Han Eliminated in 7th Place ($60,833)

Kyung Han - 7th Place
Kyung Han - 7th Place

For the second hand in a row Kyung Han put all his chips in the middle. This time it came as re-raise in the big blind after David Baker raised to 90,000 from the small blind. It was 390,000 more for Baker to make the call. He tanked for some time, counting and arranging his chips before finally making the call.

Baker: {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Han: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Baker pulled ahead when the flop came {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Han was unable to find any outs when the turn came {q-Spades} and the river fell {a-Spades}.

Baker collected close to a half-million in chips in addition to knocking Han out of the tournament.

Pace Slows After Two Eliminations

With two eliminations in the first hour, things were off to a really fast start. However action has slowed a bit over the last few orbits, possibly because there are no players sitting with extremely short stacks. Daniel Thomas is currently in the basement with about 602,000.

Heather Takes Some off Baker

Nicholas Heather bumped it up to 158,000 in the cutoff and Baker raised the stakes with a three-bet to 400,000 on the button. Not to be outdone, Heather went all in for 950,000 more. Baker didn't make the call, giving Heather a big bump.

Heather now has 1,900,000 and his sharing the lead with Matt Vance. Baker is down to 1,700,000

Jared Hamby Eliminated in 8th Place ($46,077)

Jared Hamby
Jared Hamby

Many people may have pegged Jared Hamby as a favorite heading into today's final table. Even though he started with a small number of chips, his experience has to count for something. The remaining seven players must have taken a collective sigh of relief when he was eliminated.

Baker was in middle position when he raised to 65,000. When action got to Hamby on the button, he went all in for 431,000 with Baker making the call.

Hamby: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Baker: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

It was a classic race position with Hamby maintaining the lead through the {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop. When the {4-Hearts} fell on the river, Baker collected some more outs with a straight possibility adding to his over cards.

The river was the {5-Clubs}, giving Baker the wheel and sending Hamby to the rail.

Baker is once again our chip-leader with 2,200,000.

Vance and Baker Tangle Again

Matt Vance made an under the gun raise to 65,000 and was met with a re-raise from David Baker, who was in the cutoff. Vance responded with a call.

Flop: {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}

When the {j-Clubs} came on the turn, Vance led out with a bet of 200,000 and Baker made the call. Both players checked the {k-Diamonds} on the river and Vance showed {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} with Baker mucking.
