Daniel Thomas Eliminated in 6th Place ($81,203)

Daniel Thomas - 6th Place
Daniel Thomas - 6th Place

Daniel Thomas' final hand started when he raised to 140,000 on the button. Matt Vance went all in from the small blind and had Thomas slightly covered. Thomas made the call.

Vance: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Thomas: {J-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Thomas wasn't able to stay ahead for long. The flop came {k-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, giving Vance top pair. Things got worse for Thomas when the {a-Diamonds} came on the turn. The nail in the coffin was the {a-Clubs}, which gave Vance quad aces and the chip lead.

Gross Double Up

When action folded to Matt Vance in the small blind, he raised to 520,000. A call from Jeff Gross would cost him nearly all his chips, as he had only 590,000 to his name. After tanking for a while Gross simply called.

The flop came {8-Spades}{q-Spades}{k-Hearts} and Matt Vance announced he was all in. Gross stood up and confidently put his last 70,000 chips in the middle.

Gross: {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Vance: {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

Gross had been behind preflop, but found himself with two pair and a big lead afterwards. The turn was the the {j-Clubs} and Gross needed only to fade the river for a double up. The final card to hit the felt was the {5-Clubs} and Gross got a much needed boost.

Chop Chop

David Baker continued to play aggressively with a raise to 115,000 from the button. Stephen Gee re-raised to 415,000 from the small blind and Baker countered with an all-in bet. Gee called off the rest of his chips and it was time to see some cards.

Baker: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Gee: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Baker had a backdoor flush draw and was freerolling through the rest of the hand. However, with the {2-Hearts} on the turn, a chop was guaranteed. The river was the {5-Clubs} and both players were back to where they started.

Gee Picks Up Some Chips

David Baker kicked this hand off with an under the gun raise to 90,000. Stephen Gee was next to act and re-raised to 260,000. Everyone folded to Baker, who made the call.

The flop came {2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and both players checked. With the {q-Clubs} on the turn, Baker check-called a 340,000 bet from Gee.

The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Baker checked once again. Gee went all in for 380,000 and Baker let go of his hand.

The pot put Gee up to 1,620,000 while Baker slipped to 1,850,000

"I Got A Really Good Hand, Bro"

Daniel Thomas made a raise to 90,000 from the button position and Jeff Gross called from the big blind. Gross checked before the flop hit the felt. When it finally arrived, we saw a flop of {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Thomas went all in for 415,000 after Gross' check in the dark.

Gross thought about it for a while, saying "I got a really good hand bro, I think I gotta do it. Show if I fold?" Thomas told Gross he wouldn't show, and we didn't get to see either as Gross threw away his cards.
