They're like buses on this table. Nothing happens for a while and then two eliminations come along one after the other. This time it's Pat Pezzin to fall at the hands of chip leader John Monnette.
Greg Jamison opened with a raise, and Daniel Negreanu reraised from the next seat over. Jamison was the lone caller.
The flop came out , and Jamison quickly fired a bet.
"Wow!" said Daniel, leaning back in his chair.
"Okay, I'm going to need a minute. I gotta figure this out." After a minute of squirming in his chair, he shook his head and added, "So quick too, just pbbbbt." He counted down his remaining stack, seeing that he had just 45,000 chips left in front of him. Finally, he grinned and said, "I fold! Nope, too late, I can't take it back now."
"I was bluffing," said Jamison with a big smirk. He showed Negreanu the nut flush draw and a full wrap straight draw. Negreanu flashed pocket aces, choosing to fight what could be his final battle in a better spot.
Tom Koral raised from early position and was called but Ted Lawson in the cutoff and Toto Leonidas in the BB before the flop came down . It was checked to Koral who continued his aggression by betting. Lawson folded but Leonidas moved all in and found a call from Koral.
Leonidas
Koral
The turn came and river and we lose our first player today.
Toto Leonidas raised under the gun, and Tom Koral three-bet it from middle position. Leonidas called, and it was heads up to the flop.
It brought , and Leonidas check-called a bet. Fourth street came the , and the action repeated with Leonidas calling a big bet. When the river revealed the , Leonidas checked again, and Koral put out one last bet. Leonidas double-checked his hole cards, studied the board, and returned his hand to the muck, leaving himself just 44,000 chips.
The cards are in the air, and we're underway on Day 3. We'll play down to one final table of ten before combining and moving over to the featured table arena.
Welcome back for Day 3 of Event #18, the $10,000 buy-in World Championship of Omaha Hi/Lo.
First, we'd like to again apologize for our internet troubles late last night. We understand the whole world had access to our site, but we were unable to load it from inside the Rio. In any event, the problem seems to be sorted now, and we're ready for the run to the final table.
Chris Bjorin brought the chip lead into Day 2, but he would fall one spot short of the money, bubbling out in 19th place. The chip lead went back and forth all day, with Scott Clements holding that spot much of the day. Sam Khouiss had the lead for a couple levels as well, but the field was lapped by John Monnette as the night wore on. Monnette will start with more than 1.1 million chips and a commanding lead. It's not a runaway by any means though, and with names like Annie Duke, Daniel Negreanu, and Alex Kravchenko in the mix, it's still anyone's game.
The players are still missing in action, hopefully out of bed and headed here for the early start. We'll be underway as close to 12:00 noon as possible, so join us back here in just a few minutes' time!
