The Final Seven

With the eliminated of Shawn Buchanan, the final seven players have been seated at one table. Here's the table draw.

Seat 1: Barry Shulman
Seat 2: Daniel Negreanu
Seat 3: Kevin Hong
Seat 4: Jim Buckley
Seat 5: Tommi Horkko
Seat 6: Brock Parker
Seat 7: Kyle Ray

Once we lose one more player, the players will be on a short break as they relocate to the final table area.

Horkko Hurtin'

Tommi Horkko's chip lead has dwindled away. He's down to under 450,000 chips after this hand occurred.

On a flop of {K-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {5-Spades}, Horkko checked and Jim Buckley bet. Horkko called. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and Horkko check-called again. The river was the {4-Clubs} and Horkko check-called for a third time.

Buckley rolled over {K-Clubs} {10-Clubs} for the flush and scooped the pot.

Jimmy Tran Eliminated in 11th Place ($12,197)

JImmy Tran - 11th Place
JImmy Tran - 11th Place
Jimmy Tran committed most of his chip stack preflop against Barry Shulman. The flop came down {9-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {4-Clubs} and Shulman checked to Tran. Tran fired a bet and Shulman called.

The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and Shulman checked again. Tran fired all in for less than a full bet and Shulman called. Tran held {A-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} and Shulman held {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}.

The river landed a fatal blow to Tran when the {K-Clubs} fell, busting him from the tournament in 11th place.

Welcome to the Final Day

Bracelet #5 coming his way?
Bracelet #5 coming his way?
It's Day 3 of Event #14, $2,500 Six-handed Limit Hold'em, here at the Rio in Las Vegas. Eleven players remain in the field and because we didn't make it down to the final six last night, we'll be playing things out today right to a winner.

Tommi Horkko took over the chip lead from Daniel Negreanu towards the end of the night yesterday, but Negreanu is hot on his heels. Last year, Negreanu took home a similar event, $2,000 Limit Hold'em, to claim his fourth WSOP bracelet. That tournament was full-ring though and this one is six-handed. Towards the end of the night, Negreanu stated, "I've figured something out in these limit tournaments. I can't say what it is because then people will beat me, but I've figured something out." Also left standing are Barry Shulman, Jimmy Tran, Brock Parker, and Shawn Buchanan.

Things will be getting started shortly at 1:00 PM local time! There will be 30 minutes left in level 19 to kick off the day.
