Ace on the Ri...no, Ace on the Turn

Cristian Dragomir raised to 120,000 from middle position and Ivan Demidov raised to 375,000 from the small blind. Dragomir moved all in, Demidov called, and Ivan's {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} were ahead of Cristian's {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} .

The queens stayed ahead after the {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} flop, but on the turn, the {A-Spades}. Dragomir and his supporters on the rail started a noisy celebration and when the {9-Spades} came on the river, Dragomir survived and doubled up to 2.3 million. Demidov still sits with 5.5 million.

Snead Gets Creative

Paul Snead
Paul Snead
In a bizarre hand, Paul Snead opened the action with a raise to 110,000 from the cutoff. Chris Crilly flat called on the button as the blinds stepped aside.

The two players went to a flop of {J-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}. Snead fired out 250,000 and Crilly made the call.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Snead checked over to Crilly who bet out 400,000. Snead made the call as a big pot was brewing.

The river was the {8-Spades} and Snead moved all in for 2.2 million. Crilly sighed flashing {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and tossed his cards into the muck. Snead flipped over {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for an aggressively played pair of sixes, much to the surprise of the table!

With this creative play Snead jumps up to 3.75 million with Crilly falling below 2 million.

Saab's Straight Flushed By Kim

Saab down to 800,000
Saab down to 800,000
In a battle of the blinds, David Saab raised it up an additional 100,000 from the big blind with Albert Kim making the call.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Kim check-called the 100,000 bet of Saab. The turn was the {A-Diamonds} and this time Kim led out for 225,000 with Saab making the call.

The river delivered the {8-Spades} and Kim fired out 500,000. "Wow, that's a big bet!" said Saab "Alright, show me a flush, I call."

Saab was again right with his read as Kim flipped over {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for the flush. Saab flashed {Q-Spades}{8-Clubs} for the flopped straight as he threw his cards into the muck in disgust.

Saab falls to 800,000 with Kim now up to 7.34 million chips.

Nikolay Losev Continues His Climb

Nikolay Losev raised to 110,000 from late position and Chris Klodnicki called from the big blind. Both players checked the {9-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {6-Spades} flop but when the {5-Hearts} came on the turn Klodnicki bet 225,000. Losev raised to 500,000 and Chris made the call. The {K-Diamonds} fell on the river, Klodnicki checked, Losev checked, and Nikolay's {A-Hearts} {6-Clubs} were good against Klodnicki's {7-Clubs} {7-Spades}. Losev is now up to 7.8 million while Klodnicki slipped to 5.27 million.

Tiffany Michelle on the March

After seeing a flop of {Q-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {10-Clubs}, Tiffany Michelle checked from the small blind and Ivan Demidov checked as well. Cristian Dragomir bet 275,000 and when Tiffany called Ivan chose to fold.

The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and Michelle check-called Dragomir's 525,000 bet. When the {4-Diamonds} fell on the river, Tiffany moved all in and Cristian threw his hand away. She's now up to 5.25 million and Dragomir is down to 1.2 million.

In a raised pot, Craig Marquis and David "Chino" Rheem took a flop of {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}. Marquis checked from the big blind to Rheem, who fired out 100,000. Marquis made the call.

The turn of the {9-Diamonds} was checked through and the {6-Hearts} landed on the river. Marquis checked again and Rheem made a bet 300,000. Marquis called and Rheem showed {Q-?}{J-?}, only to find himself outkicked by the {Q-Clubs}{K-Hearts} of Marquis.

"I thought I was value-betting the river!" exclaimed Rheem. He falls to 2.56 million with Marquis now up to 3.35 million.

The Amazon Room or the Frozen Tundra?

A Chilly Change100
A Chilly Change100
There are just 50 players left in the Main Event and all the action is concentrated around a handful of tables by the Milwaukee's Best Light lounge. The rest of this cavernous room is empty, almost eerily so--though being able to walk in a straight line from one end of the room to the other without having to navigate a maze of tables, rails, players and spectators is oddly liberating.

There's something else you immediately notice now that the room is cleared out: it's cold in here. Not chilly--COLD. Earlier in the Series all that body heat and nervous energy radiating through the room kept things relatively comfortable. Now it's empty, the air conditioning is blasting away hard enough to create a wind chill factor and, if you take a look at the photo, working conditions for your faithful reporters have become a bit trying. Expect a run on hooded sweatshirts before the night is out.

Losev Surging Ahead

Nikolay Losev sits with 7.2 million chips
Nikolay Losev sits with 7.2 million chips
Nikolay Losev raised it up to 110,000 from early position and Dean Hamrick made the call from the small blind.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Hamrick checked it over to Losev, who made a continuation bet of 150,000. Hamrick then check-raised to 375,000. Losev made the call.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} and Hamrick checked again and Losev this time fired out 500,000. Hamrick went into the tank for a long time before giving up his hand.

Hamrick falls to 1.8 million, with Losev amongst our leaders with 7.2 million.

Hellmuth Gives Some Back

Action folded around to Phil Hellmuth in late position and he limped into the pot. Kelly Kim completed from the small blind and Anthony Scherer checked his big blind option.

The flop came {10-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {4-Spades}. Action checked to Hellmuth and he led out for 65,000. Kim passed but Scherer moved all in. Hellmuth thought for about three minutes before finally folding {9-?} {9-?} face up. Scherer stacked the pot and left Hellmuth with about 600,000 chips.
