A New Chip Leader Emerges

Lyric Duveyoung made it 13,500 to go preflop and a player in middle position raised to 45,000. Craig Gray, our current chip leader, reraised to 102,500 and Duveyoung moved all in for 347,500. The middle position player got out of the way, but Gray made the call. Gray turned over A-K while Duveyoung showed pocket aces.

The aces held up for Duveyoung, who is now up to 770,000 while Gray dropped to 230,000.

Clonie Gowen Takes a Pot From Daniel Negreanu

Clonie Gowen
Clonie Gowen
After a player limped Daniel Negreanu raised to 12,000 and Clonie Gowen reraised to 35,000 from the small blind. The limper folded and Negreanu made the call. The flop came {3-Hearts} {2-Spades} {8-Spades} and Gowen fired out for 40,000, which Negreanu called. But when the {A-Spades} turned and Gowen bet 55,000 that was too pricey for Negreanu, who folded. Gowen now has 300,000 while Negreanu fell to 340,000.

Negreanu and Gould Do Battle

Preflop, Daniel Negreanu made it 11,500 to go from middle position. Peter Gould fired back for an additional 4,500 and Negreanu called. The flop came {J-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {3-Spades} and both players checked. The turn brought the {2-Spades} and again both players checked. The {K-Diamonds} fell on the river and Gould fired 15,000 into the pot after Negreanu checked. Negreanu made the call, Gould showed A-K and Negreanu mucked.

After the hand, Gould is up to 290,000 while Negreanu maintains a nice chip stack of 375,000.
