Liebert Sets a Trap

Kathy Liebert played her opponent perfectly when the the board read {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {3-Spades} and she made a small bet of 600 into a pot of over 1,000. Her opponent felt weakness and pushed all in for 2,600. Liebert made the called and turned over {A-Spades} {Q-Hearts} for top two. Her opponent tabled {J-Spades} {10-Diamonds}. The board blanked out and Liebert raked the pot.

Liebert has 17,000.

Fricke Sent to the Rail

Jimmy Fricke was eliminated after he got all his chips in the pot preflop with {A-Spades} {7-Spades} against his opponent's {9-Spades} {9-Hearts}.

The Board ran out {9-Clubs} {8-Spades} {6-Spades} {4-Hearts} {J-Hearts} and with the rebuy period over Fricke left the Brasilia room as his opponent made a set of nines on the flop.

Friedberg on a Draw

Jon Friedberg and Lee Markholt tangled in a big pot when Markholt raised to 500 before the flop. Friedberg made the call and the flop came {4-Spades} {A-Hearts} {6-Clubs}. Friedberg checked in the small blind and Markholt bet out for 1,200. Friedberg came over the top all in for 3,050 and Markholt made the call.

The hands were flipped and Friedberg had {7-Spades} {8-Spades} for a gut shot straight draw and a backdoor flush draw.

Markholt had {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} for top pair top kicker.

The turn brought the {2-Spades} and the river spiked the {5-Hearts} giving Friedberg his straight.

Shaniac Bounced Out

Mark Seif has just knocked off Shane Schleger shortly following the end of the rebuy period. Here's the story from Seif:

He held {7-?} {9-?} and was heads up against Shaniac. The flop came {6-?} {8-?} {3-?}. Seif checked, and Schleger bet 700, about half the pot. Seif called. A {10-?} peeled off on the turn, making Seif's straight. He checked again, and Schleger bet 1,200. Seif check-raised all in, and Schleger called, tabling a set with his {6-?} {6-?}. The river failed to provide the board pair that Shaniac needed, and he makes his exit.

He Found Us

The aforementioned Amarillo Slim has found his chair. Just a moment ago, he loped his way across the cavernous Amazon room and took his spot at Table 21, giving the table a broad smile as he sat down.

Senior Moment

It appears Amarillo Slim was slightly confused by all the action in the first two hours of the tournament. He just came into the Brasilia room looking for his table. Slim's table is in the Amazon room. It should be noted that Slim was in the Brasilia room for the seniors event last night.
