Hand #74 - Max Greenwood Doubles Again!

Mouritsen reacts to the ace on the turn...
Mouritsen reacts to the ace on the turn...
Rene Mouritsen has the button in Seat 4. He opens with a raise to an even 100,000. Albert Iversen folds his small blind, and Max Greenwood moves all in for 696,000. After counting down the stack and thinking quietly for a minute or wto, Mouritsen puts in the call and has Greenwood in danger of being eliminated.

Greenwood: {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts}
Mouritsen {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}

The board runs out {K-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {K-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades}, providing a stay of execution for Greenwood once more, and doubling him up to 1,419,000 chips. He has now doubled twice in the last four hands to find himself well in contention once again.

Hand #73 - Albert Iversen

Max Greenwood has the button in Seat 2 and makes it 85,000 to go. Rene Mouritsen folds and Albert Iversen then announces reraise, kicking it up to 225,000. After a quick countdown of his stack, Greenwood takes one more peek at his cards, squints, and tosses them back to the dealer, surrendering the pot to Iversen.

Hand #71 -Albert Iversen

Rene Mouritsen has the button in Seat 4. He folds, Iversen calls the blind, and Greenwood checks his option.

Flop: {J-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}. Iversen and Greenwood check.

Turn: {2-Hearts}. Iversen leads out 56,000. Greenwood calls.

River: {A-Spades}. Once more, Iversen comes out firing; 106,000 is the bet. Greenwood folds.

Hand #69 - Max Greenwood Doubles Up

Albert Iversen has the button in Seat 6 and makes it 80,000 to go. Max Greenwood then looks down at his cards and pushes his entire stack into the middle. Rene Mouritsen surprises the room with a call from the big blind and when the action returns to Iversen, he folds, leaving Mouritsen and Greenwood heads up at the mercy of the community cards:

Mouritsen: {A-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}
Greenwood: {5-Hearts} {5-Diamonds}

Mouritsen took the early lead when the flop came down {3-Spades} {8-Clubs} {A-Clubs} and his cheering section absolutely erupted. An inconsequential {K-Spades} fell on the turn leaving Greenwood drawing to one of the two remaining fives in the deck.

Amazingly, the {5-Spades} popped off on the river giving Greenwood the winning set and the crowd bellowed even louder as the young Canadian raked in the pot.

After the hand, Greenwood stacked up 902,000 in chips while Mouritsen dropped to 3,040,000.

Hand #67 - Scott Freeman Eliminated in 4th Place ($223,572)

Scott Freeman - 4th Place
Scott Freeman - 4th Place
Rene Mouritsen has the button in Seat 4 and opens with a raise to 90,000. Albert Iversen quickly folds his small blind and Scott Freeman moves all in from the big for a total of 422,000. Mouritsen makes the call and finds himself well ahead:

Mouritsen: {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}
Freeman: {A-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}

The {2-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} board gives Freeman a ton of outs on the turn, but the {10-Clubs} on the river locks things up for Mouritsen.

Freeman will take home $223,572 in prize money for his 4th place finish.
