Break Time....Sorta

The floor staff let the players decide how long of a break they could have. They decided to take a short 10 minute break. Players are also filling out their ESPN bio sheets during the break.

Luske Gets Too Aggressive In Hold'em

Hold'em:

Marcel Luske raised the first two hold'em hands from in position. The first he was able to steal the blinds but in the second hand he met some resistance from Doug Ganger. Luske raised from the cutoff and Ganger 3-bet from the small blind. Luske quickly 4-bet and Ganger called.

The flop came {5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Ganger led out with a bet which was quickly raised by Luske. Ganger made the call.

The turn brought the {J-Spades} and Ganger checked to Luske who again quickly made a bet. Ganger made the call once again.

The river landed the {Q-Diamonds} and Ganger checked and again Luske insta-bet. Ganger went into the tank as Luske put his hand out on the table in a gesture that the chips were heading his way. Ganger decided to make the call and Luske tabled {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} for ace-high. Ganger flipped {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} to show just a pair of deuces in a remarkable call to take down the pot!

With this hand Ganger will be very close to the chip lead. We'll have the updated chip counts for you during the break.

Tsodikov Doubles

Stud-8:

Rostislav Tsodikov had doubled through Jens Voertmann. Tsodikov bet the whole way and showed down {Q-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs} for the flush as Voertmann was unable to find a low as he mucked his 3-6-2-7.

Rostislav Tsodikov now sits with 200,000 chips.

Harman Stumbles

Stud-8:

Another big pot developed in Stud-8 between Doug Ganger, Jennifer Harman and Hoyt Corkins.

Corkins got out of the way on fifth street as Ganger showed down ({5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}) {4-Clubs}{A-Spades}{3-Spades}{Q-Spades} for a six-low and pair of fives. Harman was showing {5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and squeezed each of her cards to find a better hand but in the end mucked as the pot was scooped by Ganger.

Harman is now left with about 100,000 chips.

Welcome to Stud 8 or Better

Stud-8:

A big three-way pot just occurred between Doug Ganger, Steve Zolotow, and Jens Voertmann. Voertmann bet every street through sixth street and was called down by both opponents.

Seventh Street:

Ganger: {Q-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {4-Hearts}
Zolotow: {5-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {7-Hearts}
Voertmann: {5-Spades} {6-Hearts} {10-Spades} {10-Clubs}

Voertmann and Ganger both check to Zolotow. Zolotow bet out and both players called.

Voertmann showed {K-Spades} {7-Spades} {2-Spades} for a flush and Zolotow showed {2-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} for a seven low. Ganger disgustedly threw his cards into the muck
