Hand #51 - Theo Tran

Chris Ferguson has the button in seat 8. Aaron Coulthard raises to 150,000 from under the gun. Mike Ngo calls from middle position and Melvin Jones announces "all in" from late position. Theo Tran then moves all in from the cutoff seat for 940,000. All other players fold, and they two showdown:

Tran: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}
Jones: {A-Hearts} {J-Spades}

Tran is the all in player. Needless to say, the gallery is on their feet. The flop comes down {10-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} helping neither player. The turn comes the {6-Spades}. Jones needs an ace or he'll double Tran up. The river comes the {5-Spades} and Tran's supporters cheer. Tran doubles up to just about 1,500,000 leaving Jones with just over 400,000.

Hand #50 - Mike Ngo

Theo Tran has the button in Seat 7. Mike Ngo and Melvin Jones both limp in. Chris Ferguson completes the small blind and James Akenhead checks his option. We have a 4-way flop.

The flop comes {9-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {2-Spades}. Ferguson and Akenhead both check to Ngo, who bets 150,000. Jones, Ferguson and Akenhead all fold.

Hand #49 - Aaron Coulthard

Aaron Coulthard
Aaron Coulthard
Melvin Jones has the button in seat 6. Aaron Coulthard moves all in for 510,000 from middle position. Theo Tran reraises all in from the small blind. All the others fold and the players table their hands:

Tran: {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}
Coulthard: {7-Spades} {7-Clubs}

It is Coulthard who is all in for his tournament life. The flop comes {7-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {3-Spades}. The audience roars with mixed emotion. It's blatantly clear who each portion of the audience is rooting for. After a delay for drama's sake, the turn comes the {2-Hearts}. Again, mixed reactions from the gallery. The river is the {2-Clubs}. Aaron Coulthard makes sevens full of deuces to win the pot and double through Theo Tran.

Hand #47 - Grant Hinkle

Aaron Coulthard has the button in seat 3. Grant Hinkle raises to 150,000 from the cutoff seat. Aaron Coulthard calls from the button. Melvin Jones calls from the big blind and the three players took a flop of {4-Hearts} {2-Spades} {2-Clubs}. Jones checks and Hinkle bets 300,000. Coulthard calls and Jones passes. It's heads up to the turn card which comes the {6-Spades}. Hinkle checks and Coulthard bets 450,000. Hinkle stares calmly at the felt for a few seconds and then moves all in for an additional 795,000. Coulthard goes into the tank, nervously playing with his chips and stroking the bill of his cap. He eventually folds and Hinkle's gallery erupts with applause. Grant Hinkle wins the pot worth roughly 1,200,000.

Hand #46 - Grant Hinkle

Grant Hinkle has the button in Seat 10. No action to Hinkle, who raises to 150,000. Mike Ngo, in the big blind, is the only caller.

The flop is {A-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {6-Spades}. Ngo checks to Hinkle, who makes a continuation bet of 200,000. Ngo quickly folds.

Hand #44 - Chris Ferguson

Chris Ferguson has the button in Seat 8. All fold to Ferguson on the button. Ferguson raises and wins the pot.

As soon as Theo Tran folded his hand, he got up and walked to his support section, still clearly upset about the result of the previous hand.

Hand #43 - Mike Ngo

Theo Tran has the button in seat 7. Mike Ngo raises to 180,000 from late position. Theo Tran calls from the button. The blinds pass and it's heads up to the flop of {10-Spades} {6-Spades} {3-Clubs}. Ngo checks and Tran bets 180,000. Ngo quickly calls and the dealer lays down the {J-Clubs} on the turn. Ngo checks again and Tran bets 235,000. Ngo makes another quick call. The river brings the {Q-Hearts}. Ngo moves all in and Tran stands up and starts smiling. He paces the stage, making an expression like "what have I gotten myself into?" He crosses his arms and stares at the board with a sincere look of curiosity. He finally sits back down and then nervously leans over the table. Tran eventually folds and Ngo triumphantly shows {4-?} {4-?}. Tran commented that he had pocket aces. Ngo wins the pot.
