Chop It Up

From middle position, Brandon Blake open-raised to 60,000. Action folded to Grant Hinkle in the big blind, who moved all in for about 260,000. Blake tanked for three minutes before making the call. All the drama was for naught, however, as each player held ace-queen and the board bricked out.

Kearney Picks up a Nice Pot

Mat Kearney open-raised from middle position to 50,000. Josh Engerdahl, sitting in the big blind, was the only caller. Both players checked a power flop of {Q-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts}. On a turn of {J-Clubs}, Engerdahl bet 75,000. Kearney cut a large stack of green 25,000-chips from his stack before raising to 200,000. Engerdahl instantly folded.

Elia Ahmadian Eliminated in 18th Place ($30,569)

On the second hand on Green #14, Elia Ahmadian moved all in from the small blind and was snap-called by Theo Tran in the big blind. Ahmadian sheepishly turned over {6-Clubs} {8-Spades} and was in bad shape against Tran's pocket kings. A flop of {Q-Spades} {3-Spades} {4-Spades} gave him some hope, but the turn {4-Clubs} and river {5-Clubs} were no help. Ahmadian is the first casualty of the day. He earns $30,569.

Jacks for Jesus

On the first hand of play, action folded around to Chris Ferguson on the button. He raised to 60,000. The small blind passed but the big blind went into the tank, thinking for well over a minute before finally knocking the table and folding. Ferguson flipped over two red jacks.
