A Bad, Bad River Card

After Dario Minieri raised under the gun, Robert Clothier re-raised to 16,000 and both Richard Wild in the small blind and Minieri chose to call. The three players checked the {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop and the {A-Clubs} on the turn, but when the {K-Clubs} fell on the river Wild led out for 12,000. Clothier moved all-in and Wild called, showing {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for the nut flush. Clothier had made a set on the river with {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} and that most-unfortunate card on the river led to his elimination.

Doesn't Work That Way, But...

The always jovial Kirk Morrison
The always jovial Kirk Morrison
Lee Biddulph moved in for his last 55,000 and was called by Kirk Morrison. Biddulph tabled pocket Queens while Morrison held A-K. The race was on and Morrison said, "Do you wanna chop?" Of course it was a joke, one that Biddulph was better able to appreciate when the flop came {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

"How about now?" Morrison asked.

"Maybe if a club comes," Biddulph said.

And the {5-Clubs} hit on the turn and Morrison repeated his offer, but Biddulph declined again and it turned out well for him in the end when the {6-Diamonds} hit on the river. Biddulph survived and hand-for-hand play continues.

Hand #4: Unknown Player Eliminated

Button raises, small blind reraises, button moves all in, and small blind calls with A-K offsuit. The button shows K-K, and he has the other player outchipped. The board comes 8-7-5-10-6, and the kings hold up. The small blind is eliminated.

A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall

Jeff "Mr. Rain" Banghart has increased his stack to 600,000. He's feeling good about his play.

"I've won the last two pots I've played," Mr. Rain said. "And I'm going to win the next one. And the one after. And the one after..."

Hand #4: Chip Jett Pushes Someone Out of a Pot

With about 100,000 in the pot and the board showing {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{J-Hearts} on the turn, Chip Jett moves all in for 160,000. His opponent thinks for a while, and then asks, "If I show, will you show?" Jett says he will.

His opponent folds A-J (pair of jacks), and Jett shows {A-Spades}{2-Spades} (pair of deuces). Chip Jett takes the pot, increasing his stack to about 265,000.
