David Levi Survives

Dame David Levi?
Dame David Levi?
Just before the break David Levi got all of his chips in preflop with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} against Vicky Coren's {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {J-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and David survives into the last level of the day.

Color Up

The players have been asked to vacate the tournament area for approximately 25 minutes while the tournament staff conducts one of the largest color-ups of the entire WSOP.

Kim Watching Last Year's WSOP While Playing In This Year's

A couple of the big screen TVs here in the Amazon Room are broadcasting reruns of last year's WSOP Main Event. As many of you may remember, Doug Kim reached the final table last year and finished in seventh place, collecting a $2,391,520 payday.

One of our reporters spotted Kim watching the broadcast at the exact moment they showed his bust-out hand. Kim and fellow table mates had a good laugh about the irony of the situation. Currently sitting on approximately 80,000 in chips, Kim is in good shape to make a run at Day 2.

Mark Seif Doubles Up With Top Two Pair

Action folded to a middle-position player who raised to 2,000. Mark Seif, on the button, reraised all in for 5,200 total. The big blind smooth called and the original raiser passed. The players showed...

Seif: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Opponent: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

The board filled out {J-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Seif's two pair was best. He survived his all-in and now sits with 13,000 in chips.

Sam Simon Excecutes a Double-Double

Over the course of the last 30 minutes, Sam Simon has managed to double up twice; once with A-K and the other time with pocket queens.

Here's how it happened:

The first double-up came courtesy of J.J. Liu, who called Simon's preflop all-in raise holding {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}; Simon showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and managed to hit a king on the turn to double up to 25,000.

The second hand saw all the money go in on a flop of {4-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}; Simon showed {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and his opponent, the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for a flush draw and one overcard. Both the turn and river blanked out and Simon suddenly found himself at 56,000 and right back in the hunt.

Montel Williams Doubles Up Two Players

Montel has made a couple of calls against big hands, with {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} against pocket aces and with A-4 against A-Q . Luckily he had both opponents well covered, but he has seen a dramatic drop in his chips and now has gone from being chip leader to being back amongst the pack.
