Farzad Bonyadi Counterfeits Opponent

Board: {6-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts}

Preflop, Farzad Bonyadi and another player limp in. The big blind checks the option. On the flop, it's checked to Bonyadi who bets 1,500. Only the small blind calls. On the turn, the opponent bets 20,000 and Bonyadi is all in for his last 9,000. The river pairs the board, rendering the opponent's {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} no good and making Bonyadi's {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} the winner. He's at 22,500.

Abe Mosseri takes a hit

Abe Mosseri

Holding {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} on a flop of {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}, Abe Mosseri was happy to have his opponent all in. He was not so happy when his opponent rolled over{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Neither the turn {2-Hearts} nor the river {4-Diamonds} brought the case five Mosseri was looking for. He has now dropped to 26,000 in chips.

Andrew Black Tops 100k

Black made it 1200 to go from late position and was called by both blinds. The flop came {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and the action was checked around to Black who led out with a 4,000 bet.

Black's opponent in the small blind check-raised, making it 10,000 to go. The big blind folded and Black countered with a reraise of his own, opting to put his opponent all-in. Black's bet persuaded the small blind to fold and he flashed A-J before tossing his cards into the muck.

The hand brought Black past the 100k mark on the day, and he is currently sitting on 108,000 chips.

From Penthouse To Outhouse

For the briefest of moments Nestor Martinez was the chip leader at the World Series of Poker. And now he's out. In a crazy ol' hand, four players ended up all-in before the flop. They held {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}, {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}, {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}, and {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

The flop came {2-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and when his {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} held up Timten Olivier took out the other three players. Olivier now sits near the chip lead with 99,000. And Nestor Martinez's day is at an end.

The Antics of Brad Garrett

Brad Garrett is picking on the dealer because the dealer wants Garrett to put a chip on his cards to protect them, and Garrett doesn't want to. Then, a woman sits down across from him covered in Full Tilt logos. "Maybe you've heard of my website," Garrett says. "Ihopethatsnotmysphincter.com."

Advance or Go Home?

The 900 or so remaining players have made it to the half-way mark of Day 1a. They outlasted almost three hundred players but have three more levels and six hours of play before the day is complete. At dinner break, most of the players had time to think about their game plan. The big stacks will be trying to add more ammo for their run towards glory. The short stacks are hoping to catch cards and double up in order to survive the new levels that now feature antes. And the ones who caught a wave of luck during the first part of the day are hoping they can continue their good fortune. Meanwhile, a few unfortunate souls are praying for that miracle hand which will get them back into contention. Every time a dealer screams "Seat open!" another player cringes knowing that his or her fate can be sealed on the very next hand.
