Drama-Filled Hand Sends Tony Hachem Home

Tony made it 4,200 to go from middle position and an unknown player to his left reraised enough to put Tony all-in. Tony made the call and flipped over {K-Clubs}{9-Spades}, while his opponent showed a pocket pair of 10's.

Tony clapped his hands before the flop, saying "C'mon King!" and got his wish when the doorcard was the {K-Diamonds}; the rest of the flop came {9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, giving Hachem top two pair.

The turn brought the {A-Hearts}, leaving Hachem to sweat one last card. One of the many spectators watching the hand said, "Finish it off with a King, Tony!"

The rail erupted and then went immediately silent as the last card to fall off the deck was the {10-Clubs}.

Hachem graciously shook his opponent's hand and wished him luck before taking a seat at a nearby table to sweat his friend Kevin O'Donnell.

T.J. in Search of Lucky #7

No stranger to WSOP final tables, T.J. Cloutier is putting himself in position to make a run at what would be his 7th WSOP gold bracelet.

T.J. was overheard discussing the quality of the old bracelets vs. the new ones and seemed to prefer the heavy gold composition of the old bracelets over the diamond laced modern versions.

Rest assured, however, that T.J. would have no qualms accepting one of the new bracelets this weekend, should he end up winning the event.

Joe Hachem Playing Railbird

Normally the one at the table who spectators gather around to watch play, Joe Hachem is currently playing the role of railbird, sweating his brother Tony's run at what would be his first cash at the WSOP. Joe was eliminated from the tournament earlier today.

Tony is shortstacked of the moment, but he's certainly not short on support.

Alaei Eliminates Vardjavand

With the board showing {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, Varahram Vardjavand bet 7,000 holding {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Daniel Alaei then put him all-in for 14,700 more. The clock was called on Vardjavand and he waited until the very last second to make the call.

Alaei turned over {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, good for trip 7's and would improve to 7's full of Aces by the river, after the {A-Hearts} fell off the deck.

Vardjavand was eliminated from the tournament on the hand, while Alaei improved to 81,000.
