Event 13 - $5,000 Pot Limit Holdem

Day 2 Completed

Final Table For Event #13 ($5,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em) at 2:00 pm PDT Sunday

Jeff Lisandro
Jeff Lisandro
The final table is set for 2:00 pm PDT on Sunday afternoon. Here are the final nine:

Seat 1 - Jason Lester - 295,000
Seat 2 - Allen Cunningham - 346,000
Seat 3 - Travis Rice - 544,000
Seat 4 - Alan Jaffray - 254,000
Seat 5 - Joe Patrick - 631,000
Seat 6 - Gavin Griffin - 524,000
Seat 7 - Humberto Brenes - 225,000
Seat 8 - Keith Lehr - 182,000
Seat 9 - Jeff Lisandro - 982,000

This is going to be a *fantastic* final table.

Gavin Griffin was the youngest player to ever win a bracelet back in 2004 (amazingly, a record that's been broken *three* times since then), and is already having a great 2007, winning the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo earlier this year.
Allen Cunningham is one of the top pros in the world, coming off two very strong WSOPs, winning Player of the Year honors in 2005 and finishing fourth in the Main Event in 2006. He already has four bracelets, and is looking to become just the 17th player in history to win five.

Humberto Brenes is one of the most popular pros, and this is his second final table of the '07 WSOP. He won two bracelets way back in 1993 -- and none since. He'd love to pick up a third.

Jeff Lisandro is a top pro who finished 17th in last year's Main Event, and won an exciting WSOP Circuit Championship back in 2005, heads-up against Phil Ivey for several hours.

Jason Lester is probably best known for finishing fourth in the 2003 Main Event, behind Chris Moneymaker. But he also happens to be the defending champion in this event. It's been a long time since we've had someone win the same WSOP event two years in a row.

And that's just 5/9ths of the table.

Return to PokerNews.com tomorrow (Sunday) at 2:00 pm PDT for all the live, hand-by-hand action from what is certain to be an extremely entertaining, exciting final table.

Chris Sandrock Eliminated in 10th Place ($21,512)

Joe Patrick raises from middle position to 56,000, Chris Sandrock moves all in from the big blind, and Patrick immediately calls with {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}. Sandrock shows {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, and he'll need to improve to stay alive.

The board comes {K-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}, and Sandrock rivers a set of fives -- on the same card that gives Patrick an ace-high flush in spades. Chris Sandrock is eliminated in tenth place, earning $21,512.

Official chip counts coming in a few minutes.

Keith Lehr Returns; A Dead Hand for Lisandro

Just moments after Sebok was eliminated, Keith Lehr returned to the table, claiming he heard it would be a 75-minute dinner break instead of just 60 minutes. It's unfortunate for Sebok -- Humberto likely raised from the button with {8-Spades}{3-Spades} because there was a dead small blind behind him. If Lehr had returned five minutes earlier, Humberto likely would have folded. We'll never know for sure.

Once Sebok busted, it was time to redraw for seats at the final ten-handed table. But the deal had already been completed at the other table. Even so, the hand was declared dead. Jeff Lisandro, on the button, was shocked, saying he had never heard of such a thing. All of the players received cards, and even though nobody had acted yet, he felt the hand should have been played out. But the hand was killed, and the players drew for seats at the final table.

As they were sitting down to the final table, Tex Barch came to the rail, trying to get the attention of Keith Lehr. When Lehr saw him, he came over, saying, "30 minutes! I missed 30 minutes!"

Actually, Keith, it was more like 10 minutes, but who are we to split hairs?

Joe Sebok Eliminated in 11th Place ($21,512)

Joe Sebok
Joe Sebok
With Keith Lehr still missing in the small blind, Humberto Brenes raises from the button to 56,000, Joe Sebok moves all in for about 80,000, and Brenes calls with {8-Spades}{3-Spades}. Sebok shows {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, and even though he's a favorite, he looks worried.

The ESPN cameras gather around, and Humberto puts on a show for them, calling -- practically singing -- for an eight on the flop. He's rewarded with two pair as the flop comes {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, and Sebok is drawing to something runner-runner. The turn card is the {5-Hearts}, and Sebok turns to leave, drawing dead. The meaningless river card is the {8-Diamonds}, which causes Humberto to shout, "Full house! Full house!"

Joe Sebok is eliminated in 11th place, earning $21,512.

Mike Hauptman Eliminated in 12th Place ($21,512)

Mike Hauptman and Jeff Lisandro reraised each other preflop a few times until Hauptman was all in with {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} against Lisandro's {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}.

The flop comes {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}, but the {Q-Hearts} on the turn gave Hauptman a flush draw and plenty of outs. The river card was the {5-Diamonds}, and Lisandro's pocket kings held up to win the pot.

Mike Hauptman is eliminated in 12th place, earning $21,512.
