A Flush Could Have Been Bad News

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

From the button, Josh Williams raised to 70,000. Robert Estepaniance called from the small blind, and Sean Szurko called from the big blind.

The flop was checked around after the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} fell to see the {Q-Clubs} land on the turn. Estepaniance led for 80,000, Szurko folded, and Williams called.

The river was the {3-Diamonds}, and both players checked.

Estepaniance showed the {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, but lost to Williams' {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Williams had the winner with a pair of tens, but was lucky the flush didn't come in on the river, minus the {J-Clubs} of course.

Bitakis Can't Shake Reichard

From under the gun, Joshua Reichard raised to 65,000. The only caller was John Bitakis from the small blind, and the flop came down {10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Bitakis checked, and Reichard fired a continuation bet of 80,000. Bitakis check-raised to 205,000, but Reichard didn't wasn't phased. He reraised to 450,000 and won the pot.

Salvador Campos Eliminated in 17th Place ($21,335)

Slavador Campos - 17th place
Slavador Campos - 17th place

Salvador Campos opened to 125,000 from early position, and the action folded to John Bitakis, who moved all in. The action folded back to Campos, who quickly called, and the hands were opened.

Campos: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Bitakis: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

"Classic race situation," Tripp Kirk joked.

The {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop didn't change much, but the {a-Diamonds} on the turn gave Campos a leading pair of aces. At the site of the ace, Bitakis tossed one of his chips in the air, looking defeated, but to his delight the {2-Diamonds} spiked on the river.

Bitakis won the hand with his flush, and the stacks were counted down. Bitakis' 710,000-chip stack barely covered Campos' 705,000-chip stack, eliminating him in 17th place.

Crawford Ships with Sixes

From the hijack seat, Tripp Kirk raised to 60,000. Ryan Riess reraised to 125,000 from the cutoff seat, then action folded to Claudia Crawford in the small blind. She moved all in for an even 900,000. Play folded back to Riess, and he took a minute before laying it down. Crawford showed the {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} as she pulled in the pot.

Straight for Zazay

Rob Zazay opened to 60,000 from under the gun, and both Claudia Crawford and Joshua Reichard called out of the blinds. The dealer fanned {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, and Crawford led out for 80,000. Reichard released, and Zazay made the call.

The turn was the {9-Spades}, and Crawford led again - this time for 125,000. Zazay tank-called, and the {8-Clubs} completed the board.

Crawford checked for the first time, and Zazay slid out 230,000. Crawford sat quietly in thought for over two minutes, then cut out enough chips to make the call.

"I'm having a real hard time putting you on a hand," she announced.

She eventually committed the chips.

"I got real lucky," Zazay announced, flipping over {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a jack-high straight.

Zazay is now up around 2 million chips, while Crawford slipped to just 815,000.
