Queens for Kirk

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Tripp Kirk raised to 80,000 from under the gun to kick off this hand, and Joshua Reichard called on the button. Everyone else folded before the dealer spread the {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop.

Both players checked the flop, and the {2-Spades} was added to the board on the turn. Here, both players checked again. Then, the {K-Spades} paired the board with cowboys on the river. Kirk bet 75,000, and Reichard made the call.

Kirk showed the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for two pair, kings and queens. Reichard mucked, and Kirk won the pot.

Four Ways, but No Betting

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Claudia Crawford raised to 85,000 from under the gun and received three callers. Zal Irani called from the cutoff seat, Ryan Riess called from the small blind, and John Bitakis called from the big blind.

On the flop, turn and river, all four players checked around as the dealer ran out the {9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} board. Irani showed the {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for king high after checking the river, but Riess did better with the {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for two pair. Bitakis and Crawford mucked, and Riess won the pot.

Fortunate Double for Irani

Zal Irani doubles
Zal Irani doubles

John Bitakis opened in middle position, and the action folded to Zal Irani, who three-bet jammed for 720,000 from the blinds. Bitakis made the call, and had Irani dominated.

Bitakis: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Irani: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The {j-Hearts} was in the window of the flop, prompting Irani to clap his hands loudly. and it was followed by the {10-Hearts} and the {2-Diamonds}, giving Bitakis a flush draw. Niether the {7-Clubs} nor the {4-Diamonds} completed said flush however, and Irani doubled through.

"How does he fade that?" Claudia Crawford asked after the hand.

"I wouldn't have fist-pumped after that flop," Tripp Kirk added.

Rob Zazay Eliminated in 15th Place ($25,805)

Rob Zazay - 15th place
Rob Zazay - 15th place

Tripp Kirk opened to 80,000 from middle positon, Rob Zazay three-bet to 150,000 from the big blind, and Kirk made the call. The flop fell {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, and Zazay led for 130,000.

After 30 seconds or so, Kirk moved all in for effectively 900,000, and Zazay unhappily mucked {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} face up. Kirk showed {7-}{7-} for a set of sevens.

Two hands later, the action folded to Zazay who min-raised on the button. Erik Roussakis, who finished third in this event last year, three-bet to 220,000, and Zazay moved all in. Roussakis snapped it off.

Zazay: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Roussakis: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop was dry, but the {k-Clubs} ripped off on the turn, giving Roussakis a pair of kings. The {q-Diamonds} completed the board, and Zazay was eliminated in 15th place.

One for Bitakis

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Rob Zazay raised to 85,000 out of middle position, and John Bitakis three-bet to 175,000 from the big blind. Zazay took some time for thought, then called to take a {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{2-Spades} flop. Bitakis fired 210,000, and after a minute or so of tanking, Zazay folded.

Pair of Aces for Williams

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

From the hijack seat, Shiva Dudani raised to 80,000. Josh Williams called on the button, and Nick Guagenti called from the big blind. From there, all three players checked the {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop to see the {Q-Spades} come out on fourth street.

On the turn, Guagenti and Dudani checked. Williams bet 145,000, and Guagenti folded. Dudani made the call.

The river completed the board with the {5-Spades} and completed a backdoor flush draw. Both players checked.

Dudani announced that he had a jack, but when Williams turned over the {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, Dudani's hand went into the muck. Williams won the pot.
