Ali Daher looks to be one of the older players competing in the Main Event Day 1a flight but he now has a pile of chips in front of him. We didn’t see how the action went but all the chips were in the middle and the final board read .
Daher was the victor with his sat in front of him as the chips were pushed his way and his vanquished opponent could only stagger away from the tables and Daher proceeded to neatly stack his chips.
Guillaume Wilhelm looks to be the chip leader as he just busted two players in one hand.
The flop was and Sabare Atmani was all in for his last 12,000 and had been called by the player to his left and Wilhelm. Atmani sensed he was in bad shape and stood up. The other player only had a few chips left and they went in to the middle when the turn card came the. The river was the and it was time to show.
Atamani’s was, as he suspected, no good. The player to his left tabled but lost out to the turned flush of Wilhelm.
Quentin Lecompte was in the big blind and with the board reading he led into two opponents with a bet of 6,000. Jean-Louis Cap made the call as did Antonio Guerrero.
The river card was the and Lecompte pushed the rest of his stack across the line for a bet worth 10,700.
Cap looked like he was on the call but after a quick glance at the player still to act behind him he said, “Pass” and folded. Guerrero also looked in two minds, even picking up the calling chips while giving Lecompte a long look. A couple minutes passed before he too flicked his cards away.
From having all his chips in the middle Lecompte was now above starting stack.
Oussama El Mestari, the player with the upside down sunglasses, check-called a bet from Damien Lhommeau on the turn of a board reading .
When the hit the river El Mestari again checked and after some thought paid off a bet of 3,800. Lhommeau showed and El Mestari tapped the table and complimented him, “Good bet.”
The player in the small blind completed and Cindy Guilbault in the big blind bumped it up to 500 from the big blind.
A flop of saw it checked to Guilbault who threw out a black T5000 chip and a blue T100. Realising her mistake she said she meant to bet 1,000. Her opponent gave it some thought but obviously thought better of attempting to punish the mistake and folded. A sheepish Guilbault raked in the pot.
With 132 players now registered and 131 remaining just one player has been eliminated before the end of the third level. That unlucky player does of course have the opportunity to buy back in on the remaining three starting flights.
