Guillaume Rivet opened to 400 from late position, and Will Failla called out of the small blind. The flop fell , and Failla checked. Rivet continued for 475, and Failla called.
The turn was the , both players checked, and the completed the board. Failla flicked out a yellow T1,000 chip, and Rivet quickly called.
"You get there on the river?" Failla asked.
Rivet nodded, tabling , and Failla flashed before mucking.
The Aviation Club de France is a very classy place. In order to enter, you need to have a specific card and your fingerprints on file.
Along with the high security, the club also enforces a dress code. According to the website: "Sport shoes (sneakers), t-shirts, and torn jeans are not allowed. Collared shirts and smart shoes are compulsory."
The rules can be bent a little bit, and some of the players here are in violation of the dress code, but Scott Seiver isn't one of them. Seiver is wearing a nice pair of slacks, a button-up shirt, and a pair of dress shoes.

WPT Champion Roberto Romanello has been eliminated in Level 2 here on Day 1a, and was kind enough to let us in on the details. According to Romanello, he lost the majority of his chips in a three-bet pot with against an opponent's on a board of . Romanello was eliminated soon after.
Minutes after Romanello's elimination, the pink-haired Frenchman Guillaume Darcourt exited stage left as well. Darcourt was all in holding on a flop of , and Casey Kastle had him at risk holding . The spiked on the turn, giving Kastle the lead, and the completed the board.
Darcourt and Romanello are both eliminated, but we're certain we'll see them tomorrow for Day 1b.
