Keating Picks Off Dattani

Level 5 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Alex Keating
Alex Keating

Michel Dattani opened from the cutoff and Alex Keating called on the button.

On the KJ8 flop, Dattani checked to Keating who bet 40,000 and Dattani put in the call.

The 6 turn checked through to the 9 river which saw Dattani lead for 90,000. Keating thought it over for a while, asking questions and staring at Dattani before he decided to stick in the call.

Michel Dattani: AQ
Alex Keating: A9

Keating's rivered third pair was good enough as Dattani was bluffing with a missed gutshot.

"Don't bluff bro...this is live poker," joked tablemate Anatoly Filatov as Keating scooped the pot.

"I'm Going to Live Forever Out of Spite"

Level 5 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Joao Vieira opened to 16,000 in early position and Dylan Linde called in the big blind.

Linde checked on the flop of 10J9 and Vieira continued for 15,000. Linde called. Both players then checked on the 9 turn.

Linde bet 70,000 on the 4 river and Vieira laid it down.

As the hand played out, last year's Mini Main Event champion Martin Raus stood for a table-side interview with Jeff Platt as he proudly held his bracelet.

When he got back to the table, Raus shocked his table mates by telling them he was over 60 and that. "I'm going to live forever out of spite."

The Canadian followed this up with some Neil Young wisdom, "I'm never slowing down. I'm going to drink forever. It's better to burn out than to fade away."

Barer Calls Two Streets

Level 5 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Vinay Boob opened 17,000 under the gun and Ami Barer defended the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of 622, and Barer check-called a continuation bet of 15,000 from Boob.

When the 8 fell on the turn, Barer checked and Boob continued for 42,000. Barer made the call once again.

The board completed with the K on the river and once Barer checked, Boob checked-back. Barer rolled 63 for sixes and deuces and that was good as Boob mucked his hand.
