Zhou Bests Addamo Once Again

Level 35 : Blinds 2,500,000/5,000,000, 5,000,000 ante
Yinan Zhou

Michael Addamo opened to 10,000,000 in the hijack with AK and Yinan Zhou called on his left with KQ. The dealer fanned the flop of A107 to give both players something to work with.

Addamo continued with a bet of 11,000,000 and Zhou called to see the J on the turn. Addamo fired out a second barrel of 18,000,000 on the turn but Zhou wasn't going anywhere after making his straight. Zhou made it 45,000,000 and Addamo called.

The river was the 10 and Addamo checked once more. Zhou splashed in a smaller bet of 30,000,000 and Addamo looked him up. Zhou tabled his straight and let out a big yell to his rail as he was awarded the pot and took over the chip lead.

Kanit Wrestles Back the Chip Lead

Level 35 : Blinds 2,500,000/5,000,000, 5,000,000 ante

Mustapha Kanit opened to 10,000,000 with J8 from under the gun and was called by Yinan Zhou in the cutoff with K9 along with Marcelo Aziz in the big blind with A10.

The flop came 655 which managed to miss all three players. Kanit continued with a bet of 10,000,000 and Zhou opted to raise to 32,500,000. Aziz quickly folded the best hand but Kanit clicked it back to 58,000,000. Zhou couldn't withstand the pressure and dumped his cards to the muck, giving Kanit the chip lead once again.

Triton Million Hands of the Week: Ivey Loses $1,000,000; Brutal Bubble Bustout for Ryan Feldman

Level 35 : Blinds 2,500,000/5,000,000, 5,000,000 ante

The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise, which is taking place on Paradise Island in The Bahamas, got off to a big start with the $500,000 buy-in Triton Million, which marked the WSOP's first partnership with Triton Poker.

It was a unique tournament that paired an invitee with a poker pro – each putting up a $500,000 buy-in – and then competing in respective fields on Day 1 before combining on Day 2. The tournament, which was being live reported by PokerNews, featured 74 players (37 pairs) and much to our surprise saw two players get their chips all in on the very first hand of the tournament.

It was a big hand, but just one captured by the PokerNews Live Reporting Team. Here is a look at five other either big or game-changing hands from the Triton Million.

Liv Boeree: K8

The flop came 1093 and both players picked up draws to go with their live cards. The 9 on the turn and the 6 on the river bricked everything and Boeree was able to win with just king-high. The former chip leader over the past two days was now eliminated in sixth place.

Boeree was in a dominating position and the flop of Q92 left her in a great position. The 8 on the turn left Nguyen drawing to just three outs and the 6 on the river was not one of them.

Zhou Outkicks Kanit

Level 36 : Blinds 3,000,000/6,000,000, 6,000,000 ante

Yinan Zhou raised to 12,000,000 in the cutoff with KQ and Mustapha Kanit called from the big blind with K4. The flop came K103 to give both players top pair.

Kanit checked to Zhou who continued with a bet of 9,000,000 and Kanit just called. The turn was the A and Kanit checked again. Zhou threw in another bet of 15,000,000 but Kanit still called after picking up a flush draw.

The 8 completed the board and Kanit checked for the third time. Zhou took the cautious route by checking it back and tabled the best hand to collect the pot.

Level 36 : Blinds 3,000,000/6,000,000, 6,000,000 ante

What is a player to do when they love tournament poker, their mind allows them to compete against the best of the best, but their body doesn’t want to cooperate? That’s a question “Texas” Mike Moncek, who suffers from a heart condition, asked himself Wednesday night after playing in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise Event #7: $100,000 Triton Main Event.

The tournament, which is being live reported by PokerNews, attracted 182 entrants and offered up an $18,200,000 prize pool. On Day 2, a little over 40 players remained when Texas Mike, in his own words, “punted.”
