Ho Jams the Turn

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

With two players seeing a board of 1028 and roughly 30,000 already in the middle, Christopher Puetz bet 11,000 from the small blind and received a call from Maria Ho on the button.

Puetz slowed down with a check on the K turn and Ho moved all in for approximately 62,000. Puetz thought about his decision for about a minute before folding and Ho took down a decent pot without showdown.

Foxen Doubles Again Through Farcas

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Marian Farcas had opened from middle position before Kristen Foxen moved all in for 57,000 from the button. Farcas called with a covering stack to put Foxen at risk.

Kristen Foxen: AQ
Marian Farcas: KQ

Foxen was in excellent shape with a bigger queen and remained ahead on the J22Q6 runout to score a full double up through Farcas for the second time in the last two orbits.

Hunichen Takes a Minor Hit

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Chris Hunichen asked for a jack after the JJ4J turn when he had Barry Hutter all-in and at risk. However, the QQ of Hutter took it down when the 10 river completed the board, as Hunichen instantly mucked his cards.

Despite losing this hand, Hunichen has an above-average stack to his name right now.

Hutter Eliminated by Kubaliak

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Chino Rheem had recovered previous losses when he came up second-best with 1010 against the AK of Kelvin Kerber.

The same table included several other big names and Matas Cimbolas was trying to figure out the name of an opponent in the five seat. "My name is Igor. Igor Igor," the answer came.

Only one of those statements was true, as it happened to be Igor Picone from Belgium.

Picone called the shove of Barry Hutter for 28,000 and then saw Tomas Kubaliak move all-in over the top, forcing out Picone.

Barry Hutter: AQ
Tomas Kubaliak: KK

The 97378 board brought no help to Hutter and ended his run on Day 1a.

Foxen Keeps on Doubling

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Kristen Foxen
Kristen Foxen

Marian Farcas opened to 12,000 from the hijack and received call from Arkadiusz Ignatiuk from the cutoff. Kristen Foxen moved all in for 72,000 from the small blind, forcing a fold from Farcas while Ignatiuk made the call with a covering stack to put Foxen at risk.

Kristen Foxen: AK
Arkadiusz Ignatiuk: 88

It was a classic preflop flip that Ignatiuk got the better of on the J75 flop. Foxen was getting out of her seat ready to leave the tournament area by the time the 4 turn was dealt but the K river gave Foxen top pair for the winner and she collected a third double up in the last hour.
