Higgs With Kings

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

After a raise to 900 and one call, Sam Higgs three-bet to 2,200 from the button. The initial raiser folded but the cold-caller moved all in for 18,000 chips with {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs}. Higgs called with {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds} and faded the flush draw of his opponent on a board of {3-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades}.

Shortly after he was involved in another pot after calling a raise to 1,000 and then also tossing in the extra 2,000 chips after the squeeze of the player in the cutoff. Higgs check-called 2,200 on the {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} flop and 3,200 on the {4-Clubs} turn before both checked the {2-Clubs} river. The opponent showed {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} and Higgs mucked.

Moffitt Continues to Roll

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Action folded to John Moffitt on the button and he put in a raise. George Sotiropoulos responded by three-betting to 3,450 from the big blind, Moffitt called, and the two saw a flop of {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Sotiropoulos led out for 3,650, Moffitt called, and the {8-Clubs} appeared on the turn.

Sotiropoulos bet again, this time 8,650, and Moffitt pushed back with a raise to 20,000. Sotiropoulos thought long and hard before making the call, and then he checked the {5-Hearts} river. Moffitt took the opportunity to bet 20,000, and Sotiropoulos hit the tank hard. Several minutes passed before a clock was called, and the floor gave Sotiropoulos the obligatory minute. When that expired, Sotiropoulos' hand was ruled dead and Moffitt was awarded the pot.

Gill Fires Against Cheong

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Oliver Gill raised to 800 from early position and got two callers in the player in the small blind as well as Kyle Cheong in the big blind. On the {4-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} flop, the action was checked to Gill and he continued for 1,550 which only Cheong called. Both then checked the {2-Hearts} on the turn and Gill took it down with a bet of 4,825 once the {Q-Clubs} completed the board.

Israelashvili vs. Neilson: One Hits the Turn

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Roland Israelashvili raised to 1,025 from early position and Daniel Neilson called from middle position. Michael Kanaan came along from the button, as did Geoffrey Mooney in the small blind, and four players saw a flop of {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. Mooney led out for 2,500, Israelashvili shoved all in for 11,675, and Neilson called. Both Kanaan and Mooney folded and the cards were turned up.

Israelashvili: {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Neilson: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Israelashvili had flopped an open-ended straight draw with his pair, but he was behind the overpair of Neilson. That changed after the dealer burned and turned the {3-Hearts}, which improved Israelashvili to a set. Suddenly Neilson needed a ten to win or either an ace or six to chop, but none appeared as the {4-Spades} river improved Israelashvili to a full house for the double.

Yan Passes Judgment

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Darren Judges opened with a raise under the gun only to have David "MissOracle" Yan, who finished sixth in the 2013 Aussie Millions Main Event for AU$232,254, three-bet to 3,200 from the big blind. Judges responded with a four-bet to 6,700, Yan called, and the flop came down {3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Spades}.

Yan checked, Judges bet, and Yan called. When the {5-Hearts} appeared on the turn, Yan checked for a second time and then called when Judges shoved all in for 13,500.

Judges: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Yan: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Both players held overpairs to the board, but of course Yan's was best. The {6-Diamonds} river wasn't the lady Judges was searching for, and his 2014 WSOP APAC Main Event came to an end here in Level 5.

Riess Finds What He's Looking For

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

2013 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Ryan Riess just put his tournament life on the line.

Some of the details escaped us, but we do know both he and his opponent in the big blind put 10,000 in the pot with a board reading {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. When the {7-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Riess got the remainder of his chips in and tabled the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a flopped two pair that turned into a flush. His opponent, who was none too happy, showed that he had flopped the straight with the {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}.

Ship the double to "Riess the Beast."
