Two Chances for Players to Join the 2022 Unibet Open Malta €1,100 Main Event
The 2022 Unibet Open Malta €1,100 Main Event is eying a record attendance in the fifth edition of the popular mid-stakes tour on the island of Malta. So far, one starting day has been completed and 120 entries put the flagship tournament of the series en route to gather a large field for the return to live poker. It has been a hiatus of more than two and a half years for the Unibet Open brand, which moved the competition to the virtual arena during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
More than 100 players gained their entry to the €1,100 Main Event through the Unibet Poker online platform and just a fraction of that has already jumped into the action yet. Some 80 qualifiers are still expected to enter the fray in the five-star Intercontinental Hotel in St. Julians, which also entails the Casino Malta on the ground floor of the same venue as well.
Two starting days are scheduled for today with Day 1b commencing at 12pm noon local time. A total of 11 levels of 60 minutes each are planned for today and the late registration closes after the end of level six and following 60-minute dinner break at approximately 7.40 pm local time.
All those who have been eliminated by then have one more chance to run up a stack as a single re-entry option into the turbo heat 1c is available. This also applies for all the casualties of yesterday's first flight, which included the two-time champion Mateusz Moolhuizen as well as the Unibet ambassadors Monica Vaka and Alexandre Reard.
The players receive 30,000 in chips, which represents 300 big blinds for the first level at blinds of 100-100 and a big blind ante of 100. Throughout the entire duration of the event, the big blind ante format will be used and a winner will be crowned on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
Day 1a: 33 / 120 players advanced
Day 1b: 12pm noon start, registration closes around 7.40pm local time
Day 1c: 9pm start, registration closes around 11.20pm local time
