McCloskey Jams Into Schable

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Feature Table

Blind on blind, Mick McCloskey raised to 65,000 with the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and David Schable called with {A-Spades}{3-Hearts}. On the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} flop, McCloskey bet 80,000 and Schable called, then turned the inferior two pair with the {3-Clubs}. McCloskey checked and Schable bet 195,000, which then resulted in the instant check-shove of McCloskey for 840,000.

Schable gave it some thought and folded his aces and treys.

Brennan Loses to Brock Again

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Outer Table

Keith Brennan raised to 60,000 and was called by Michael Brock on the button and Henri Koivisto in the big blind. The {7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop was checked through and the {J-Clubs} turn was checked to Brennan, who bet 100,000. Only Brock called and the {8-Diamonds} river was checked. Brennan showed the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for king-high and Brock won the pot with {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

Brock won the next pot on the flop against Paul Jux Holderness and jumped back to where he started.

Brennan Doubles Through Brock

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Outer Table

Michael Brock raised to 60,000 in the cutoff and Keith Brennan moved all in for 460,000 in the big blind, Brock called.

Keith Brennan: {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Michael Brock: {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The {J-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Spades} flop was a massive sweat with the gutshot and flush draw on top for Brock, however, the {9-Hearts} turn and {A-Hearts} river failed to improve Brock and Brennan avoided an early elimination.

Groblewski Chipping Up

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Feature Table

Julien Kron raised to 65,000 first to act with the {K-Spades}{7-Spades} and Jakub Groblewski had the {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} in the big blind. Groblewski moved all in and forced a fold. Previously, he had raised with {A-Hearts}{10-Spades} and left 30,000 behind to steal the blinds and antes already.

Brennan Loses Two

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Outer Table

After defending his big blind against a raise by Paul Jux Holderness on the button, Keith Brennan checked and subsequently check-raised from 65,000 to 175,000 with the flop showing {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Jux Holderness called and the turn came the {7-Clubs}. Brennan checked and folded when facing a bet of 165,000 by Jux Holderness.

Soon after, Brennan would lose another pot and dipped to half a million in chips. On the tail end of a {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{5-Clubs} board, Brennan paid off a bet of 165,000 by Michael Brock and mucked when he was shown {6-Clubs}{5-Spades} for trips fives.

Koivisto Takes Lead on Outer Table

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Outer Table

Henri Koivisto has come out roaring with aggression over on the outer table and raised several hands in a row. He claimed the blinds and antes in the first attempt and then faced a three-bet by Michael Brock in the big blind when making it 60,000 to go. Brock three-bet to 155,000 and Koivisto was having none of it, four-betting all in to force an instant fold.

One orbit later, Koivisto raised to 60,000 again and Brock defended the big blind. On the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, Brock checked and called a bet of 55,000, then check-folded the {8-Diamonds} turn to a second barrel of 160,000 by Koivisto.

Who Will be Crowned Champion of the 2018 Unibet Open Dublin Main Event?

Mick McCloskey
Mick McCloskey

After three starting days and the following Day 2, a total of 21 levels, the 2018 Unibet Open Dublin €1,100 Main Event has been whittled down to the last 11 hopefuls, all looking for their first title on the popular European mid-stakes tournament series. The guaranteed prize pool of €250,000 was easily surpassed with 359 entries and the lion's share of the €359,000 prize pool is still up for grabs when the action gets back underway at noon local time at the Bonnington Hotel in Dublin.

Michael Brock thrones at the top of the counts with a stack of 1,480,000, but it's far from a done deal for the Brit to claim the top prize of €74,900, as several players are not far behind. Second in chips is Joseph Ellis with 1,230,000 and a quintet follows, separated by just a few big blinds including Robbie McCormack (1,145,000), Keith Brennan (1,125,000), David Schable (1,110,000), Paul Jux Holderness (1,080,000) and Henri Koivisto (1,050,000).

Irish poker legend Mick McCloskey, who can always be found at the poker tables with his trademark cap containing pins from all over the world, is also among the 11 finalists and will enter the final day with a stack of 955,000. Furthermore, Julien Kron (810,000), 2014 Irish Open champion Patrick Clarke (575,000) and Jakub Groblewski (315,000) also remain in contention.
