De Wijs Doubles; Gives Some to Neys
Level 7
: 500/1,000, 100 ante
David Baltus has had a massive stack of 185,000 chips, but Niels de Wijs doubled up through him before passing a smaller portion of the profit to table neighbor Wim Neys. The double up of de Wijs happened in the same manner as the elimination of Oanh Bui, as the Dutchman told his opponent he had the nut flush.
Baltus had fired the turn for 6,000 and de Wijs called before the fell on the river. Baltus bet 11,000 and de Nijs moved all in for 38,800, saying he had the hand locked up. Baltus didn't believe him and called with before shaking his head when he was shown by de Wijs.
"What should I say, I am a honest man," the Dutchman said. De Wijs then played a pot against Neys, folding to the third barrel worth 11,300.
