Final Flights of PokerStars £1,100 UKIPT London Main Event Running Today

The PokerStars United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour continues today with the final flights of the Main Event. Running at Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square, Day 1c gets underway at 12 p.m. local time, while Day 1d, which will be the final opportunity for players to bag, kicks off at 7 p.m.

Starting stacks for the tournament are 30,000, a generous 300 big blinds deep for the first level of 100/100/100. Blind levels are set to increase every 40 minutes, with a short break every three levels and a 45-minute dinner break following Level 6.

Players can take a maximum of two entries per flight and late registration remains open until approximately 10.15 p.m. All flights play down to 15 percent of the field and those who make it through will return to Day 2 in the money.

Across the first two flights, 259 entries have already been made. Saigokul Kannan was the overall chip leader by the end of Day 1b, bagging 533,000 chips.

Paul Carr is not far behind with 500,000, while Oliver Hutchins bagged in third place overall with 467,500.

Dylan Bradley was last year's UKIPT London Main Event winner. He recorded his first-ever live victory worth £71,650. This year's event concludes on Sunday night, at which point a new champion will be crowned.

Aasgaard Paid on River For Full House

Fredrik Aasgaard raised to 400 from the button and Alexandru Boboc called in the small blind.

The flop came 9109. Boboc checked and Aasgaard bet 300. Boboc check raised to 1,500 and Aasgaard called. Both players then checked it back on the 10 turn.

The river was the J and Boboc led out for 2,500. Aasgaard raised it up to 11,000 and Boboc called. Aasgaard showed A10 for a full house, tens full of nines. Boboc mucked and Aasgaard won a huge pot early on.

Schwaederle Wins Three-Bet Pot

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Following an open raise, Juan Ares Gonzalo called and so did the small blind. Cedric Schwaederle then three-bet from the big blind for 1,600 and only Gonzalo made the call.

The flop came A2K. Schwaederle continued for 1,600 and Gonzalo folded to concede the pot.

The 2024 PokerStars United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) London festival kicked off on August 2, with the £1,100 Main Event's first flight shuffling up and dealing on August 4.

Eight players have become UKIPT London Main Event champions since the tournament's inaugural running in 2010, and some of those champions have become household names following their victories.

Mugur Cracks Yoo's Aces

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Ioan Iordan Mugur raised to 600 from early position and Charles Yoo three-bet to 1,500 from the big blind. Mugur four-bet to 5,100 and Yoo five-bet to around 15,000. Mugur pushed all in and Yoo quickly called with slightly more chips.

The board ran out 6J3K7. Yoo had aces, but Mugur made a set of kings on the turn and held to double up his stack. Yoo looked devestated as he pushed across most of his stack.
